Hi all,

I got engaged recently and got a lovely princess cut diamond which is fantastic. I love it!
So then WHY, am I feeling weird when someone else at work just got engaged, got a princess diamond in a similar setting, however hers looks slightly bigger??? (i am guessing a 1.8, could be a 2 even, although I think mine sparkles more) Why is this bothering me and why does size matter?
IN a princess, what table/girth is most desirable?

I know all that matters is that I love it and my fiancee, which I do.

Ahh Shalini,
You've been stricken with size envy!!

It sucks that she got hers so close to your moment. I could say don't worry about it but that won't help. But the size you got is nothing to sneeze at. And if you do love the hunk-a-man then your set in the right direction. Enjoy the new bling. Hers is hers, yours is yours-choosen with love from your soon to be "ball and chain."

It woudl be the total depth of the cut that dictates 'size' the most (and 65%-70% would be best).

However, the approach you describe is downright deadly. Is there any way you could tollerate a larger diamond anywhere near? C'mon, there is always going to be bigger and better (up to 400cts or so) ! These are useless baubles, Sir !

Let's put it this way: what would you do if you had to greet Her Majesty dressed up in a pair of muddy jeans

And there is NO way your diamonds could impress...
