Hi,

My GF and I have an idea of what we want. A 3 stone princess with channel diamonds to 3 and 9.

If the main stone is 3ct.,
What is the smart proportion for the side stones? Many of the options I have been exploring are jewelers who have pretty small side stones. Also, they aren't the same color or inclusions class.

I'm assuming I will have to have custom ring made. I just don't know what size side stones I should be looking for.

Any suggestions or guidance here would be great.

Problem is, all the online stores I've spoken with so far have premade settings. The diamonds they are going to use are already decided.
When I asked them about upsizing or color changing, it got into conversation that was not very forward moving.

I just spoke with Adiamor who is going to build me a custom ring. However, they didn't really have any guidance about the side stone. We are going to look at it in person.

So I'm still looking for advice..

Someone like David Klass, Diamonds by Lauren, Yekutiel at ID Jewelry, would all make it fully custom. They are moderate budget. Higher budget would be CVB Inspired Design, Maytal Hannah, Steven Kirsch, and others.

How big is your GF's finger? You probably dont want side stones to spill over too much in-between her adjacent fingers because
it will be uncomfortable. A 3 carat princess could be around 7.85 (give or take).

Here is what it would look like on a size 6 finger. The other stone is a 1 carat. You can use this tool to see different sizes of princess cuts somewhat next to a 3 carat. Change the finger size to what you need.

3ct Princess (7.85×7.85×5.65) vs 1ct Princess (5.51×5.51×3.97)

Compare 3 carat Princess (7.85×7.85×5.65mm) vs 1 carat Princess (5.51×5.51×3.97mm) on actual diamond size and finger coverage (61.62mm² vs 30.36mm²)

Edit...also something you need to be concerned about. You (probably) want all the stones to have the same number of
chevrons on the pavilion, You can look at the GIA report pavilion view to see how many chevrons a stone has. Or, you
at least want the 2 side stones to be the same. I* usually say with smaller stone go with less chevrons so they arent
as busy looking. Bigger stones, like 3 carats, can handle more chevrons.

Looks like you are going with lab stones? I know you are/were just asking about proportion but it helps
if we know the stones you are looking for are lab created so we dont go off recommended Earth-minded vendors
(since this is the Earth-mined forum).

A lot of Earth-mined vendors also sell lab-created though. I've never seen a custom ring from Adimor. Do they create a CAD
for you so you can check out the design before they make it?

Yes, going with a lab grown. That's what she wants so that's what I'm getting her
The main stone will be a 2.97 (ignore the pricing, I found a better deal.)

I've never seen a custom ring from Adimor. Do they create a CAD
for you so you can check out the design before they make it?

All of Adimor's rings are custom. Evidently that's their speciality. They are downtown LA and I live in LA so I'm going to go meet with them. But it's my intention to source the matching sidetones before I go in. I'm not a buy at the counter type of guy. I like to do my due diligence.

That looks like a 4 chevron but ask Adiamor since its not on the grading report.

I was just asking if they are doing CADs for you so that you can see what you are getting. Its good that you live local and get to talk
to them in person.

So Adimor will set outside stones? Not too many vendors of that type will do that because they want to sell you the stones.
