Problems with bank wires?

We purchased a diamond, and are having a setting custom made at Whiteflash. So, towards the end of last week, we went to the bank, and did the required bank wire. We got confimation from the bank, and then from Whiteflash. Today, I got confirmation from Whiteflash that they had received my second bank wire??

We didn''t send a second wire, and checked our balance and just about peed our pants! Our bank took the amount out twice!! We checked with Whiteflash, and they are going to rewire the second payment back to us tomorrow! The bank is so lucky that I have the flu and that I couldn''t go in there to kick any ass! My husband went in...and they gave him some half-assed excuse about a new employee, etc! Unfortunately, this is not the first, or even second time that they''ve messed up...but we have direct deposit, and it''s such a pain to switch banks!!

I think I''m going to have to fire them though...

For us, that is a very serious amount of $$ to be messing up with! Like buying a new car amount of money...even if it was only a KIA! Fortunately, we actually had the money in that acct, but we don''t usually, and wouldn''t have in a few days! Grrrrrrrrr....

But, on a happier, less pissed of note....I can''t wait to get my ring!
 
There is no excuse for that. I would be furious. A new employee should not be handing a several thousand dollar bank wire!

That is so annoying! What bank is this???? You should definitely call the branch manager and get a non half-assed reason for why they did this. That is ridiculous and should never have happened. What if you had checks that needed to clear with that money or something and were overdrawn. Can you imagine the hassle that would have caused?

Incompetence annoys me.

I can hardly wait to see your ring!
 
That is completely ridiculous!!! I hope that they will compensate you and WF for the charge associated with the bank wire fees! It''s great that WF is so on top of things that they were able to fix the problem quickly, but your bank should have put the money back in the account and gotten the money back from WF themselves. It shouldn''t have to have been your responsibility...especially when you are sick!!!

That is just the worst, that should never have happened. So sorry, can''t wait to see your new ring, and I hope you feel better soon.

Call the bank manager or President whichever your bank has. Explain to them how unhappy this situation and whatever past situations have made you. I would definately begin shopping for a new bank.
I stayed with my previous bank (First Union/Wachovia) becuase they are so on top of things. If I spend over a certian amout in a day (I choose it) then they call my cell phone to make sure it is me. There are so many diffrent options about who you leave your money with, if they are not getting things done open a new account, have your DD switched over and close the account you have now.

Oh and I cannot wait to see your new ring.
 
We had the exact same thing happen w/ an overseas bankwire. It is the banks responsibility to reimburse you prior to WF sending the money back. They should also reimburse you for any loss incurred because of the error. This is why a request for money or an invoice is an absolute necessity. I''m glad you are dealing with a reputable company.
 
They called this morning, and asked if I wanted to make a formal complaint! Heck ya I do!! They keep saying they are going to get to the bottom of why it happened! It''s no great mystery how it happened, it''s the incompetent teenage bank tellers. It''s a small branch, and yet you never see the same teller more than a couple of times! The turnover is unbelievable....and they wonder why they have trouble!? They make mistakes and get fired, and the cycle repeats. My suggestion to them would be to check out their training operation!!

In one way....it''s taken some of the sting out of the 2 week wait period!!
