Problems with My Registry at Macys

I am wondering if anyone has had any problems with their registry at Macys. I received a few pieces from my everyday china set and it was not taken off of the registry. I know that the person who bought the items took them from the registry in the store because she would have never known what I wanted. So I called the wedding channel to see about having them take the items off. A few days later I went into the store to add a few more items and I mentioned the problem to one of the bridal consultants. She told me that according to their records I took the items off and that they were not being counted for my star rewards. I was concerned because if this is going to be an issue everytime someone buys a gift it''s going to cause alot of legwork for me. I had to call the consultant this morning with information from the packing slip and she said she would fix it. I sure hope she does.

Has anything like this happened to anyone else before???

My friend had a similar problem with Kohls. Apparently, some of the cashiers did not scan the registry sheet when the customer was paying for the item(s), so my friend ended up with many duplicate items (ie: knife set, blender, etc).

Luckily, they were able to return the extras and used the total amount to buy one of their big-ticket items!

I am sure all the kinks will be worked out soon!

I've heard of a few people having problems with their Macy's registries but we registered there anyway. No one has bought anything from our registry yet but it's still early.

Can you explain the Star Rewards program? The consultant we spoke with mentioned it but only briefly.

Zoe...sorry I am just getting back to you. Star Rewards is a program for those that have a Macys CC. Basically you get 5% back on all purchases made by your guests from your registry. It''s somehow connected to your CC. After the wedding (I beleive 5 months after) you receive a gift card for the rewards you earned. You also receive 10% back on any personal purchases. I thought it was worth it. I didn''t have a Macys CC but I opened one just for this reason.

as far as items not coming off a registry, this is often because the registry is not scanned at the time of purchase. a lot of people will view a registry online, through weddingchannel.com, and then they will go into a store or go to macys.com to make a purchase and never say that it is for a bridal registry! it won''t come off if the associates don''t know it''s for a registry! also, you do not get your star rewards points if the purchases are not made through your registry. if your guests purchase through macys.com and not weddingchannel.com, there is no way to get the star rewards unless you return he gifts once you receive them using your packing slips and then re-purchase them and scan your registry.
