Hello ladies! Sorry I have been a bit MIA lately, my computer died at home, so I have been sneaking in some PS time at work Shhhhhh!!

I am starting to work on my programs and need some guidance and ideas. What kind of things did you include? What type of format? Any tips?

TIA

We just did a very basic program with the people, and the order of the Catholic mass since many of our guests have never been to a mass. My fiance and I aren''t really touchy-feely people though, so we weren''t really comfortable putting in thank yous to the parents etc. But that''s just us.

I actually really enjoyed working with the vellum. It''s very easy to print, makes the programs look more sophisticated, AND it hides little flaws (like if you''re cutting is just slightly off).

I did a very simple program, just an 8.5" x 11" paper folded in half and printed on both sides. The front was a high-resolution picture of a calla lily, which was our wedding theme, along with our names and date. The left inside page was the order of the ceremony, including names of readings and songs. The right inside page was the list of bridal party, family, and a note of thanks for their support. The back included the lyrics and translation of our vocal solo, which was sung in Hebrew.

I had a lot of fun making our programs! I knew I wanted to do some type of fan design since it was forecasted to be hot on our wedding day, so I got this cute kit at Michael's crafts to make fan programs.

They were four pages. The first page was the Welcome to the wedding of blahblahblah... With the date, time, place, etc. I also had a love quote at the top of the page. The second page listed the bridal party and our parents. The third page had the order of the ceremony, names of songs played (since we had unconventional ones), names of readers and what they were reading (we had two). The fourth page had a thank you to our parents and a thank you to our friends and family.

I was pretty lost at first with how to put them together, what info to use, etc. so I googled "wedding programs" and found a lot of helpful websites that tell you what to include based on what type of wedding you're having (casual, formal, religious, etc.).

Here's a pic of ours!

Our programs were very basic. We also used 8.5x11 cardstock and printed them ourselves. On the outside we had our names, date, location, and on the inside, the wedding party and order of events. On the back we had a simple thank you note to our friends and family. I did the little graphic on front in Photoshop so it wouldn''t be so plain.
