I'm working out the setting details for my replacement e-ring with WF. I'm going with the Vatche U-113 but can't decide on prongs. I love the basket shape but not the tab prongs, but I'm not sure about claws either. I want them to be as thin and delicate as possible without compromising the setting integrity. I thought I didn't want fully pointy claws so I described a "rounded claw" but what they sent me as an example is "blobby" like a fat claw and I'm not loving that either. I want skinny prongs - do I just want claws? Petite claws?

Anyone have the Vatche U-113 with modified prongs? I've searched here but haven't seen exactly what I want. I'd like to send them a real life picture so feel free to share!

Claw prongs are the most delicate.

Would help if you posted a picture of what they sent you.

This is what WF sent me, it was actually a picture I almost sent them but now I’m not liking the round look. I’m thinking I may just get the normal Vatche tab prongs, I do think they look a bit big though in pictures I’ve seen. My stone will be 1.4 ct so not big enough for the prongs to look really small. 961C3665-8607-4BFD-B1DC-0AC254E496C8.png

I personally love tab prongs with this style of solitaire - so classic and totally un-catchy! ::)

I think the petite claw would be the most likely to blend into the stone without showing as much but the tab prongs to me are more like the classic Tiffany setting.

When I think of rounded claws in my head that image WF sent you is what my head comes up with. Not sure how else
you would describe those prongs. Other claw prongs are longer in my book (of course we all have our own books ;))).

I wonder if there is such a thing as petite tabs?

I like how skinny long claws are but not sure I like how pointy they end up being. I’m thinking petite tabs too! I’m nervous about requesting a modification that’s super different than the original tab prongs. I’ve just seen some pictures where they stick out too far or look too clunky.
This is what I ended up sending to WF. These are from here but I forgot to note who they belong to! My diamond will be a 1.4ct so not as big as these, but if the prongs could be sort of proportional to these I’d be super happy.

For the record from a distance these prongs will be very small.

I agree that petite claws would probably be the best bet.

That’s @msop04 ring I think?
Petite tab prongs do sound lovely!

@Bruin Bling I know this thread is quite old now, but I'm going through the EXACT same dilemma you were, and for the same sized round diamond, also from WF. I'm wondering what kind of prongs you ended up getting and if you like them? Could you share some pictures to help another gal out?

Hi @cvh ... sorry, I just saw your note. I think your message was intended for another bruin on here @bruin224, so tagging them instead. Good luck!
