Not quite sure where to post this question.... Sorry if it is the wrong place. Linked here is a ring that I'm contemplating purchasing. One thing that I am wondering about is the prongs. I'm usually drawn to more refined prongs - something that would be finer, thinner and pointy. Is it possible to have a jeweler work on these simple, rounded prong to reshape them? Would I have to find a completely different setting?

Someone like David Klass can shave the prongs to make them more pointed. But an FYI, that stone doesn't look great in terms of cut or color

I agree and thank you for the recommendation. It would be for a young niece who has taken to looking at jewelry - evidently, I'm a bad influence! She loves the color and has shown the piece to me half a dozen times. Though it is not what I would pick - I know what it is like to be drawn to something. She is a tiny thing and I'm thinking of getting it for her for an upcoming birthday - but because of her small hands I would want to 'spruce' it up a bit. She and I have an outing planned - so maybe we will go into some local stores for her to see some things in person this weekend. Perhaps something else will catch her eye.
