I have a friend at work who is getting married next fall and is looking at dresses - she loves the style of the Pronovias dresses but is on a dress budget. I told her what I paid for mine but wanted to get other opinions too for a better price range (since they don''t have pricing on their website). So for all you Pronovias brides, some questions -

1. What dress did you get (year/style?)
2. What was the price?
3. How much did alterations run and what did you have done?

Thanks!

I got the 2009 Manuel Mota for Pronovias Sagrera.

After the "buy it when you try it" discount, I paid something in the neighborhood of $2500

Since I bought it at the NYC Flagship store, all alterations are included in the cost of my gown. It needed to be hemmed, and brought in 6 inches (!!!!!!!yay!!!!!!!) and bustled. I''m going back for a second fitting Aug 13th, where hopefully it''ll come in another inch or two, and then my final try-on before taking it with me to WI is on Aug 15th.

1. 2007? Leadora? Still not really sure. It''s a San Patrick.

2. I got mine half off as a sample, but it was originally $1579. It''s all lace.

3. Alterations price unknown as of yet, but probably a lot. I''m having it hemmed, taken in, sweetheart neckline, she''s fixing the bodice so it sits lower, sewing in cups, making straps smaller, bustle. Yikes.

I absolutely love Pronovais gowns ( just don't love the prices

) - can't help with where to get them from cheaper except here in the uk there's a website called 'sellmyweddingdress.co.uk - I'm sure there must be similar sites in the US where you can buy a designer gown cheaper than in the store

1. What dress did you get (year/style?) I got the Daifa, I believe it was an 07

2. What was the price? $1440

3. How much did alterations run and what did you have done? They were $400 I believe, I had it hemmed, bustle ties sewn in and the bust taken in twice (I''m small) and I some of the bodice taken in a tiny bit, there was not much work done to it

I got mine at a bridal boutique in town by my house, they are known for their selection and are a bit higher priced, but I LOVED my dress and received so many compliments on it!

1. What dress did you get (year/style?): 2008? Horizonte

2. What was the price? $1900 which included the veil. I got 10% off b/c I purchased during a Pronovias trunk show.

3. How much did alterations run and what did you have done? I haven''t had my alteration appt. yet, but I''m going to need to have it taken in slightly in the bust and waist, hemmed probably an inch or so, bra cups added, and the bustle...I''m sure it''ll be close to another $400 at least.

Mine was a Spring 09 Manuel Mota gown. Style was Violino.

2. What was the price?
Initial price was 2700 euros but I did get a bit of a discount and a VAT refund at the airport.

3. How much did alterations run and what did you have done?
Alterations were included in the original price but because I bought the dress in Europe and needed to have alterations done in NY, I had to pay separately. Ultimately, alterations were $450. I had the bust and waist taken in, the hem shortened, a bustier sewn into the gown, and two bustles (french bustle for the layers underneath, and an over-bustle for the tulle) sewn in. The seamstress was wonderful. If anyone needs a recommendation for NYC, I can pass along the info.

If your friend finds a pronovias dress that she loves you can always see if it is available here:

http://www.bridalgown.net/storefrontprofiles/default.aspx?sfid=101638

if they don''t have it, it is possible to enquire to see if they can get it in for you. It works like a personal buying service where they order the dress through an actual bridal store and then send it to you when it comes in. My dress is working out to be less than half price, but i am in Australia which probably makes alot of difference. I think they have just over 200 different pronovias dresses on their site.
