PSA: no bumpers in cribs

Just came across this article on CNN talking about the risks associated with crib bumpers and SIDs. I know some states have either talked about or has enacted laws to outlaw the sale of bumpers for this reason. Just an FYI for those with little ones or soon-to-be-moms.

We haven't felt the need to ever use a bumper. We just have a mattress cover and a cute print fitted sheet.

we had to because my sons would stick their arms and legs out and would get caught (pain in the booty) so we needed the mesh breathable bumper to help stop that.

My daughter uses a mesh bumper, but it is really aggravating to have to pay for a bedding set with bumpers you can't even use!

They also make things now that cover each bar individually. Now that sounds like a hassle! We used a mesh bumper at first. Then, when DS reached about 9 months and was all over the place, we put on the regular bumper. I kind of like the minimalist look of no bumper. Some companies - I think Skip Hop - make crib sheets with piping around the edge and separate print on the side to give the look of a bumper with no bumper.

We have the mesh bumpers and they drive me crazy, they won't stay up and get all mushed down. I need to take them off and just have nothing on there.
