Puerto Rico, here we come!

We booked flights to go down to Puerto Rico this weekend to see the venue, meet a couple of photographers, taste the cake, perhaps do a trial run on the hair/makeup, and ask maid of honor to be maid of honor.

FI has never been to Puerto Rico in the 3+ years we have been together because when I go I usually spend time with my friends or hang out at the beach for days and he''s not a big fan of that. He wanted to go sightseeing and it just never worked out. So here we are, only 4 months away from the wedding and he still hasn''t been.

I''m hoping he likes it enough to be happy holding the wedding there. Personally I think Old San Juan is the most special place on Earth but I''m highly biased being Puerto Rican and all

. So we will see. The venue is http://www.elconvento.com/. I think it will be hard for him not to fall in love with it. They have been kind enough to hold it without a deposit for over a month because the wedding is on a Sunday and the room is pretty small so no one else has requested it.

My best friend, who is male, is the only one who has not met FI yet so they are meeting this weekend. It has been so weird to talk to best friend about making the decision to marry this amazing man he has never met. So I''m thrilled about them meeting.

And I''m thrilled about everything today! It''s my birthday today so I also get to celebrate with my closest friends back home this weekend, with the love of my life in the city closest to my heart. I am literally walking around like this

That sounds so amazing! Enjoy your trip- FI and I got enggaged in PR this November at the El Conquistador in Fajardo- it was so great! I am like you- my best friend is a gay male, who my FI has never met...they have talked on the phone and such, just never met in person...it is hard because my friend and I dated before he came out- and we have been bf''s ever since!! Thank goodness my wonderful FI understands our relationship....

Well, from a non-Pueto Rican, I can confirm that Old San Juan is seriously beautiful and a very romantic place to get married. I lived there for a couple of months whilst working as an archaeologist on the island and fell in love with the architecture.

You''re going to have to do the sightseeing thing with him one day though!! Have a great time there and hope he loves it as much as you do.
