1) I have had Ava since 2/14/04 she was a valentines day present from my frat, Zuel since August
2) Ava, is just under 2 and Zuel in those photos in 5months (barely)
3) So far no one.
First thread with Zuel pictures as you can see there is a 3rd dog Beauregaurd (3.5 years old) who is acutally larger then both of them, for the moment anyway. Beau is about 115 or pounds, and Zuel is only 70lb, Ava just 13lbs. None of the dogs try to top dog each other, it is a bit odd. Both of the boys will defend Ava from the birds (not that she thinks she needs it, she clearly thinks herself a tough doggie!) It will be intreasting to see if any of them try and take that dominance over the others, right now Zuel is concentrating on not tripping over his own paws, but full grown he will be between 220-260lbs.

Oh she knows, when they wrestle and play she wil hide under the other dogs so they cannot get her back. I think I have a photo of Zuel sitting on her to make her move.

Matatora, do you feed Zuel at chest height rather from floor level? I hear the breed are prone to gastric bloat and this is a good preventative.

As big as 260....they can be quite large.
No but perhaps it would be a wise investment.

Many large dog breeds are prone to this but not yet, he knocks things over too easily. Right now Zuel is pretty small the size of a lab, or a German Shepard.

OMG

That is like 43 of my dogs.
How much food does a 260 pound dog eat?

You can see her under him just a bit. She hid their toy and so he decided to have a lie down.

They have to be feed through out the day, their stomachs can become empty and they will be sick. Bless their hearts. I am not sure as he is acutally my four year old sisters dog. I dont think a dog that size would enjoy living in my apartment. I know Beau has two cups of food in the evening and again in the mornings...plus whatever things my siblings give to them. These photos are all in my room at my parents home in NJ.

OH MY GAWSH I love those pics -- especially the last one of Ava engulfed by mastiff. Zuel''s head & face is starting to look more like the breed. He is handsome already but will be awesomely handsome when he''s all growed up.

Aren''t the big ones so cute when they are little. We have 2 great danes. Our baby Cache just turned 7 months. He''s almost 100lbs. He too is haven''t trouble with the paws... The other day on hardwood floors he went "splat" with all the legs out to the side.. he started wimpering and crying.. pooor boy... Poor parents who were trying to help him while doubled over in laughter.

Such a pretty boy puppy he is!

A friend of mine had a huge Great Dane who was deaf. She was such a sweety, but so difficult to get to obey. They had worked out a serious of hand signals and floor stompings to get her to do different things...

Laney--I love your new avatar. I LOVE Great Danes. They seem like such sweet dogs. Did you get your dogs'' ears clipped or are they floppy?

AmandaPanda - There are a lot of white great danes (well harlequin) that are deaf. I think dalmations have the same problem.. must be a recessive trait with the white color. I can''t imagine such a big dog w/hand signals. Then again I swear my dogs are deaf most of the time! lol!

Demelza - I have one big girl who is floppy and the litte boy in my avatar is cropped - but we didn''t post his ears.. so they are short but floppy... but they do stand up when he''s interested in something...
