Hi,
I''m seriously thinking about getting a pair of diamond studs (or maybe talking my fiance into a wedding/bday/xmas present). What is more secure between pushbacks and squeezebacks? Can you move the backing on the squeezebacks up to the back of your ear like you can with pushbacks, or does it lock in place near the end of the shaft? I have no idea how they really work. Is it worth the extra money to go with the squeezebacks?
Thanks for any advice!

I have diamond studs and I have the screwbacks. I like them a lot because I can adjust them as needed, but the screw is so find that it requires lots of "screwing" so I know that the diamonds aren''t going anywhere!!

I am with AchiO on this one. I have actually lost an earring with friction backs, I triped it came out my face was scratched up and my earring was gone

. Also if you are around children they will occasionally try and remove your earrings, rip them out. I have had two pairs since then (princess and round) and they are both screw backs. I really like them and i dont have to worry about them. I find them to be quite comfy though I have heard otehrs say they felt odd.

screws are not safe

HI:

I have both types of backs, and have no problem with either. My sister, however, had screw backs on her diamond earrings and lost an earring shortly after purchase (1.07 diamond!). After the stone was replaced the set was changed to house the La P. backs, and she has worn them for over a year without incident.

cheers--Sharon

screws are not safe
Garry,
Why are screwbacks not safe? Almost all my earrings are screwbacks (even the plain gold type and dangle earrings) and I''ve not lost any before. I''ve been wearing screwback earrings for 15 years and do everything in them; I swim, exercise, bathe, and sleep with them on. I''ve worn the pushbacks and have lost a few. Luckily, those were CZs.

Garry...

I''m also interested in this as my screwbacks stay in my ears practically every day since my DH gave them to me (5 years ago) and I''ve never had a problem with them!!
