Could anyone in here tell me the size ring my GF wears if you had a pic of her hand? I will post it here if its possible to tell finger size from a pic. Thanks

Phil

No matter how good a person was, that's NOT a good way to determine her size. Have a friend or yourself go shopping with her to "see some rings"...or have a friend have her try on "her" ring that is a 6 or so (average size of most ladies) and see if it fits...

You have to be sneaky, but find some ways to get a more accurate measurement. Fingers can be deceivingly small or large. My friend's hands look so thin, but she's a 6.5.... you never know until you try it, and there is no accounting for knuckles and what size THEY need to fit a ring over them!!! Good luck!!!

It would not be a precise guess and you would need some object of known size in the same picture (such as watch). Not sure how good the result can be, but I could experiment with a picture of my own hand to see wether I can 'guess' my ring size from it.

Interesting idea though

hi all;
I just wanted to get an idea, not the actual size. I am just trying to see what size rock will look good on her finger and I know that depends on her finger size. Here is the pic if anyone cares to take an estimate, thanks

Well, its really depends on how much you are willing to spend. A girl typically won't dislike a large diamond. tee hee.

But, it depends on what budget you want to stick to. She is going to be thrilled to get a ring from you and even more thrilled that you want her to be your wife, so I wouldn't worry about the size. Just go look at some different shapes and sizes and whatever jumps out at you...then go with that.

But, since you probably want a starting point...maybe start by looking at 1/2 ct and moving up from there. Good luck!

As mentioned, there's no way you can tell about ring size! lol It's like posting a photo of a person and asking what this person's dress size is. You can sort of guess, but everyone is built slightly different and a bit of extra this or that can make a huge difference in what size a person wears. My finger I doubt is bigger than a 4, but my knuckles force me to wear a 4.5

lol

Rough guess based on this photo, I'd say a 6.25 and I think a 1.20 would look perfect! Good luck.

It's hard to tell from that picture, but I think her hands look large enough to carry 1 ct or more, if you can swing it! I think the 1 ct mark is a nice size to hit -- it looks okay on small hands, but still looks big enough on very large hands. I don't think many people would consider 1 ct too small, or too big.

Good luck!

Edited to add:

I have heard of people getting a woman's ring size by taking a ring that she wears on her ring finger and pressing it into a bar of soap. You can take the soap with the imprint and take it to a jeweler, and they can tell you what size it is...

Phil she could be anywhere from a size 6.5 to a 8.5. Lord knows, but a rock size that will fit well is defiantely a 2ct stone or, if that is not doable budget wise, you can always have smaller three stone ring that extends over the finger to fill it up more.

My suggestion is to get the ring size more accurate, by friends or other means, and estimate your budget. Once you have that people here can help you with size, shape and some good alternatives and choices! Good luck!!!

Come on, this is just too silly!
