Question about Amethyst

Hi everyone;
My GF had a amethyst ring, but she lost it. I would like to replace it with the same type stone but in a nicer setting if possible. I was wondering if there are any vendors on line that maybe have an office in NYC where I could look on here and then see it in person. If not are there any vendors in the US that carry good amethyst''s? thanks so much

there is amethyst and then there is amethyst....but ultimately, its what pleases your eye.

And if you want to 'upgrade' and the piece does not have to be very large as some Amethyst jewelry is.... there's always purple sapphire.

There are less large & expensive where this one comes from (say, this one) and not necesarily worse for that. This one just wouldn't let go of me
