Question about Diamond Halo Earring Jackets

I just received a pair of cushion shaped earring jackets from Brian Gavin. On the website, it says the jacket will fit up to a 5.5 diameter diamond. The WF diamonds I own are 5.4 mm's.

I was so excited to get the jackets, but they don't seem to fit my studs at all. I've never owned earring jackets before - but I can see what I have isn't correct. I will have to pay original shipping/insurance and my shipping the jackets back to BG.

I would have purchased from WF, but they don't sell cushion shaped jackets.

I have attached photos - Any thoughts? Thank you.

It looks like the bottom of the stud basket is flush with the back of the jacket - is that not the case IRL?


What do they look like from face-up?

Unfortunately with jackets - they are commonly sold according to diamond mm size or carat weight, but it's the setting that determines the specifics of fit (8 prong will need more room than 3 prong, a higher-carat stone in a tall basket might fit whereas the same stone in a lower basket won't, etc.)

The bottom is flush with the back of the jacket. The studs are set in a three prong martini from WF.

The search for a proper fitting jacket may be harder than I thought !

I have attached a photo showing the face up- which doesn't look bad in the earring box. When I put it on the ear- It doesn't fit well - The stud looks like its sitting on top of the halo.

I'll return to BG and do more searching-

Looks very pretty face up! I bought stock halo earring jackets from another vendor that were advertised for studs the same size as mine and they fit similarly.
