Hi Garry H (Cut Nut), when I select Yes to H&A for either of these two stones, their HCA score each gets reduced by 0.1. What is the reason for that?
The H&A options adds a bonus/penalty depending on the data entered for angles and measurements.
Adding Symmetry to HCA scores
I would like opinions on adding a symmetry score to HCA. Bonus for H&A X%, AGS Ideal Y%, Excellent Z% No bonus for VG 0% Penalty for Good, Fair and Poor We are in Beta testing for an addition to HCA that indicates how big or small a round diamond looks like. Not just it's dimension relative...www.pricescope.com
Note: there are many super ideal cut diamonds (from WF and BGD, for example) that will score slightly less than 1.0, but it's nothing to be concerned about since all the validating information about light return and performance is provided, such as Ideal-Scope, ASET, etc.

Correct. The worse the symmetry the more likely there will be leakage areas even in a diamond with great proportions.
So by choosing a lower or higher symmetry there will be penalties or bonuses
@Garry H (Cut Nut) Are you referring to the symmetry grade on a GIA report, or something else? Thank you!
Usually all we have and it is not optical symmetry which is what we want
