Some jewellers are snobby and won’t work with man made materials.
One issue though is the cost.
Jewellers labour (and rent and taxes etc etc) is expensive especially if you are having a ring made. Wee Moissanite are only like a few bucks each but the jeweller might want to charge you $50 to set a gem. Doesn’t make sense spending $50 to set a $5 gem.
A lot of people here on Pricescope go through Etsy jewellers in India and China. Their labour costs and overheads are a lot lower so having rings made with Moissanite much cheaper.
Thank you. That makes sense about the melee stones. I'd never seen a moissanite in person before and I'm loving the fire and brilliance. I've never seen a diamond sparkle like that.
Oh the diamonds do sparkle like that-but it's different. Takes a long time to distinguish the two. However-you'll drop a fortune on diamonds of that color and clarity. My suggestion to you now before you dive into the deep end of the moissanite pool is to wear it for a few months, then if you really want it in gold have the same vendor make it in gold for you. But the silver was a smart choice-because you didn't know if you were even going to like it or not. The more moissanite creations you view, the more you're going to realize that the sky is the limit and it's a very cost effective way to get bling. If you move forward with the gold purchase, you're just going to keep spending. Just my 2 cents for now I'm a huge fan of moissanite and have had many rings created. You can go through the fashion section here and find most of the moissanite posts.
That is a really pretty setting.
