I just won this sapphire ring at an auction for 223 dollars. The seller claims that it is 5.15 carats and heated. To me- the sapphire looks awfully small for the size. Can someone please give me their thoughts? Thank you so much!!!

Does the seller give the measurements in mm?

No. He just confirmed to me that the actual size of the stone is 0.70. He says that the total weight of the ring (including the stone) is 5.15 carats. The listing, however, said 5.15 carat sapphire ring. This gave me the impression that the sapphire itself was 5.15 carats. I feel completely ripped off and have returned the item.

Oh, ok. That makes sense. I still don’t understand that even with the other stones the ring could be 5.15 carats given that the c meter stone is .7 carats. It is a pretty ring, but I see why you feel misled.

Yes exactly. At least I am able to get a refund. Thank you for your reply!

Let's hope you get your refund, speaking of integrity in the trade...

Yes- already got it. I only deal with trusted sites.

Confused. The weight of the stones on the ring can't add up to 5 carats or so. However, if the ring is gold, $223 is a fair price, so if you don't get a refund, it's not like you're overpaying.
