Question for colored stone engagement wearers from a newbie

Hi everyone,

I figure this is the best place to ask my question. I've been searching but have had no luck finding a thread with my question, apologies if it's been discussed before as I'm sure it has.

Background: I recently purchased a marquise diamond and I'm considering doing a french cut blue sapphire halo around it (upgrade e-ring). I've also started mentally planning my RHR color stone ring/jewelry collection over the last year, so I'll be frequenting here for advice  I do usually wear a ring on each hand every day. I've always gravitated to diamonds simply because the B&M stores where I've lived haven't had a nice selection or what is nice is way out of my price range.

Long winded question (after a very long day): I don't worry about tiring of the sapphires on my engagement ring, I don't think that's possible. I do wonder how it would look to have diamonds and sapphires on my left hand and then say a yellow sapphire (or yellow diamond in my dreams) in yellow gold for a RHR or a large pink pear.

How do you ladies find having color on both hands?

Thanks for reading the babbling of a very tired woman here tonight. :wavey:

I wear coloured rings on both hands every day. I love them!

Same as Periwinkle! Gems rarely clash & certainly not when they're on either hand, imo. Nature creates the most surprising & beautiful color combinations (think of a bed of flowers -- colors never look awful together), where our synthetic colors -- such as fabric or paint -- can hurt the eyes in many combinations. Wear what you love in jewelry!

On occasion, I do wear 2 rings at the same time, one on each hand where they are of different colours. Not an issue at all. I know of a few PSers who wear different coloured stone rings on the same hand everyday.

My ER is yellow but that doesn't stop me from wearing any other color on my other hand. For me mentally my ER is neutral. I do have a hang-up about the rest though. By that I mean if I have on a blue sapphire RHR then the rest of my jewelry must also be blue sapphires [except ER of course].

| also have a tendency to match my earrings to whatever colour of right hand ring I'm wearing. Unless I'm wearing pearls or diamond studs. For me also, diamonds are neutral, even if coloured (which most of mine are).
But I will happily wear a ruby on one hand and a blue sapphire on the other.

I'm the same as the previous posters! I wear color on both hands, they don't have to match. I am pickier about my metal colors matching than stone color, but that's my own personal quirk!

Thanks ladies! I know it may seem really silly or a non-issue, but it's a different direction from the very neutral white diamond jewelry I've always worn. I also know there are no "rights" or "wrongs" but wanted to hear from those who rock colour everyday. Beautiful description, Laurie!
