Do you happen to remember what colors your gown came in? I''m sure it''s different for every gown, but most designers have a few stock colors, right? Does she just have white and ivory, or are there gradations and darker ivories too? I''m trying to figure out that color my dress is, since I bought it at a consignment store. All I know is that it''s Ivory-ish. Thanks so much!

Did you get it cleaned? My sample looks ivory-- but it's actually a warm white... a couple of cleaners I talked to say that silk will lighten when cleaned. ETA: Mine is a Rivini though.

Hi Gypsy. That''s interesting! Was that because the dress was dirty, or because silk just has that reaction?

as far as i know, the gowns that i looked at either came in ivory with gold embrod. or white with silver embrod.

Oooh, interesting! Mine is a very "ivory ivory" if you know what I mean, so it''s interesting that they don''t have anything between my gown and white. Mine also has gold embroidery. I''m having a hard time figuring out whether I should get a champagne or dark ivory veil from veilshop.com. I even got swatches, and I can''t figure it out!

see about calling reem for a fabric swatch. when i ordered my gown i got a sample of the fabric in the color of my gown.

Oh, that''s cool! I wonder if they would do that for me since I didn''t order it from them. Did you pick the white or ivory? :)

i have white with silver.

i know that the ivory would have worked better with my champagne/gold/chocolate brown/deep red color scheme, but i knew i always wanted white. so that''s what i got.

dunno. maybe call and say you are trying to match a veil? say you got the dress ordered but need a veil to match asap?

do you have the gown in your hands? when do you get it in, if not? you don''t have time to wait and match it to your veil swatches?

I already have a gown, I''m just curious about the name of the color. A swatch might be helpful for my florist though.

The bridal shop I bought from used gloves for handling the gowns... but obviously didn''t require the brides to, so... hand oils and dust have darkened the color slightly to vanilla... and cleaning it will hopefully get that out. Something to consider.

I think the Superb gown comes in a color called Antique. It looks warmer than their Ivory. For all the others I''ve seen, its been white/silver or ivory/gold only.
