Question: Will it happen

My question is, do you think your SO could possibly propose this holiday, or do you know its just not gonna happen.Also, if you think its gonna happen for you, are youi doing any prep work, like nails

and possibly making sure the camera is charged?

I know in my case,its not gonna happen for me thanksgiving. For a number of reasons, 1, SO has to work, Thanksgiving and the day after. 2,SO moms birthday is the 27th, and he is still grieving. So i know, thanksgiving isnt it for me.

So Ladies, is this holiday your holiday or no?

I think there is a pretty strong possibility it may happen tomorrow/this weekend for me. (**knocks on wood**)

Setting was picked out 2 mos ago and time frame for readiness is in alignment. But the biggest clue is that a lot of errands are being run- last Friday and Saturday and just now! We are both working from home today and planned to go out to the store, but he just said I have to go run an errand be back so we can leave in 45mins. He ALWAYS tells me where he is going. First time I asked and he said, I have to run an errand. I honestly didn''t ask to be nosey it was just a normal thing we do, we tell eachother casually. Second and third I didn''t say anything.

I am excited, yet don''t have my hopes up either. I don''t think it will be some elaborate thing, but sweet and simple as it is more our thing. We are having about 15 people over from our families tomorrow.

Also, yes I did get a mani yesterday and bought a new outfit. In my defense though I would normally do that for a holiday.

As much as I''d love for it to happen this weekend, I''m not getting a vibe from him that it is going to. He seems completely normal and not "up" to anything unusual. Maybe that''s a good thing because when you mentioned manicures, I looked at my hands and they need a little love. We are effectively engaged because I know he has ordered a ring and we say "when we get married" all the time, but I so want it to be official and see a ring on my finger, manicured hands or not.

It''s not a holiday for us either (New Zealand) but it IS our dating anniversary on Friday and we are going out in the afternoon/evening and staying overnight somewhere (it''s all a surprise).

I though it might happen but now don''t think it will. A couple of factors just arn''t right at the moment so I don''t think he''ll do it.

However I have done a DIY manicure this week just in case

Okay, i must make a edit to my earlier post, i just spoke with C and he talked to his supervisor and actually got the day off. Uh Huh...im wondering if i should go get my nails done just in case for tommorow.

Nope, not this holiday, Christmas, or New Year's. I don't think he would propose during a holiday period. Plus, I know that he's not done saving up yet. But I hope that many LIW's will get proposals in the next month and a half!

As for "prep work," I always keep my nails long and painted most of the time. My camera is always charged. This is not because I'm expecting a proposal soon, but because I take care of and paint my nails as a form of relaxation and because photography is one of my hobbies. However, I do wear a promise ring and it looks so much better on my hand when my nails are nice!

This holiday season is looking promising! He graduates in December and he has told me he wants to wait to propose until after graduation. He also told me we''ll be engaged by the end of the year. Tomorrow is December 1st, so hopefully it will be soon!

Not this year. But that''s ok. I don''t think we''re quite ready. There''s maybe a 5% chance it will happen next year I suppose... always helps to stay optimistic! When we are ready though, hopefully it will be a quick process. All I want to do is pick out a little sparkler from BlueNile, with their free 2-day shipping and all...

You are too cute Jessie. I know it most definetly is not going to happen for me before or during the holidays I much prefer this as I would like the proposal to be on our own special day not on a holiday.

I wish more than anything that a ring would be my Christmas present this year. I don''t mean that to sound materialistic - I am just ready for us to be engaged.

But, no, I *really* don''t think it will happen during the holidays this year. I''ve told SO that I want to have a lot of input in the ring since I''ll be wearing it forever, and he''s not asked me what I like yet. He graduates in a couple weeks and he says he wants to talk about the future and engagement then, and I''m hoping I''ll get some idea of when he will propose then. I''m grateful for that, at least, or rather I think I am. I''m trying so hard to be happy with what we have for now. Trying.

I am really hoping that maybe somehow he will find a way to, but I highly highly doubt it. We will be dating 3 years in January. Originally he told me he would propose by the end of 2008, but now he is back in school and living off of student loans, and doesn''t want to use them to pay for the ring (which I completely understand.) Of course that means that it won''t probably happen until Christmas 2011!

But there is always hoping, but i don''t want to get disappointed.
