I am looking for a champagne/rose sapphire gemstone for a ring but having the toughest time finding anything online other a few places. Local jewelers don't have any sapphire other than blue and some pink. I found a couple of stones that are within what I want to spend and close to the color I want. Would some of the pros be kind enough take a look at these pictures and let me know how they look?

Thanks for the help!

Can I ask what your top priorities are? Color vs. size vs. shape vs. cut vs. clarity?

To me, these cuts are a little wonky, although a good custom setter can do wonders with not square shapes, it would be too much for me.

It's a very pretty color family, have you ruled out morganite already?

Color is a top priority, definitely want to stay very close to this peachy color. I think i am pretty flexible when it comes to the rest of the criteria-I would like a 2+carat but would willing to go a bit smaller for a stone that looked much better to the eye. Cushion cut is at the top of my list. These stones I attached on the previous post do not look very clear to me. Not sure if it is the pictures...

This is for a ring that would be worn daily so I am pretty much all set on sapphire.

Ok, so peach/pink/champagne sapphire, cushion, 2+ cts. it is!

I agree with you and think the stones don't look very clean in the photos, but to be fair, I don't think those photos are very good and may not be accurate.

To be perfectly frank, neither of these stones does anything for me and I would keep looking, but it's not me who has to be intrigued by it- it's you!

Full disclosure here- I am really new at the internet hunt thing! I have a favorite cutter who happens to be local to me and I usually just read here and go pick something from her inventory. There are others around who will be able to find you THE STONE, but that's probably not me

But I did like the look of this one, in the middle first row (sorry I couldn't figure out how to save the picture directly!):

No idea what your budget is, but this is is almost 3 cts, cushion, lovely color...

Great find Minou!

I would doublecheck that they have a report that matches that stone before buying, the one they pictured is for a different sapphire..

Great eye, Erini! I hadn't even noticed.

Perhaps the seller has now corrected the mismatched AIGS brief? It looks right to me, but maybe I'm missing something.

Remember you can go to AIGS web site, submit the reference number, and they will send you a copy of the brief for free. Its a nice service for consumers.

The cutting on both stones made me pause. They are too shallow to work with too. When shopping for stones this light in colour, I would request a hand shot. Be aware that depending on your skin tone, it may end up looking colourless and / or "disappear" on your hand because it blends in too well with your skin tone.

Thanks for all the help! None of those really do anything for me either. I think the beauty of the sapphire comes from their vivid colors and toning it down takes away from that. I am starting to think I might be better off with a smaller diamond.

I must say, a champagne diamond would be beautiful.

We have some people here who have been happy with Leibish for colored diamonds. It's a good place to start because they post their prices online, so you can browse without having to call someone for prices and avoid sticker shock. Diamonds by Lauren is another website for colored diamonds. The owner is on PS occasionally.
