Growing up, he was one of my favourite actors for being very elegant and dashing, especially in the musical The Sleeper And The Rose as the prince.

I go waaay back to remembering him as Dr. Kildare.
I loved him in Shogun (crushed on him big time) and The Thorn Birds. RIP

As a young girl I watched him in Dr. Kildare. Never watched Shogun or The Thorn Birds.

I read his memoir Shattered Love: A Memoir a few years ago. A worthwhile read for fans.
