Rainbow moonstone, kornerupine, and pink spinal. Prized beyond measure this one for sentimental reasons. Massive thanks to the ever wonderful Sally and Pomme at heart of water.

Really lovely colors, Redspinel, congratulations!

I love this faceted moonstone- so unique and the setting is lovely. Well done! :appl:

So pretty. I can't wait to see your hand shots of that moonstone. I love that it's faceted. :kiss2:

Beautiful ring, does it have a special story or meaning behind the stones?

TRS, your ring is lovely, and I am sure that Sally was lovely throughout the process. I will take the liberty of saying that I'm sure that your father would have loved to see you enjoying something so beautiful. The ethereal moonstone reminds me of one of my favorite poems:

When he shall die,
Take him and cut him out in little stars,
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night
And pay no worship to the garish sun.
~ Shakespeare

Thanks MO... I love that.

This specific moonstone holds special meaning for me, regarding my dad. Maybe I'll share the story on PS someday, for now it feels right I keep it private. :)

The setting, isn't it awesome?! I gave a very general outline of what I wanted this time, mainly because I didn't know what I wanted. All I specified was the use of these 5 stones, in this order and a wide band. The pics above are really only to show off the setting, doesn't do the gems any justice at all. I'll have it on Tuesday hopefully so I'll defo be taking more pictures then and hopefully get the rainbow in the rainbow moonstone.

It's a beautiful ring. I really like the setting and faceted moonstone.
My condolences on the loss of your father.

I need to set my rainbow moonstone at some point and never thought of kornerupines (which I love).

A beautiful ring to wear and remember your dad by. What a special piece.

Yep I loved the soft pastel colours together. The mehange spinel was the baby pink variety so it all just went together so nicely. Here's a better pic of all the stones together

None of the stones are windowed btw, just the dreaded tilt windows. Not apparent in real life at all.

Gorgeous! Is the stone from Sally too? Coincidentally, Sally is working on a moonstone ring for me. It is in memory of my father. She will send it to me in about ten days. Mine isn't nearly as unique as yours - it's a variant of her lotus design, but I'm really excited about it.

I am breathlessly waiting for hand shots of your ring!

Oh thanks for sharing that, can't wait to see yours. No my rainbow moonstone is from Brad and the side stones are from Yvonne. Ive stayed in all day waiting for it but it hasn't arrived yet :eek2::eek2: :eek2: so I'm losing hope fast...

It came!
It's such a PITA to take a good photo of this ring! The moonstone looks cloudy in every single picture, in fact, looking at it through the camera lens it automatically looks cloudy. Its not. Then, the camera magnifies the tilt windows, so annoying!! In real life they are so tiny and insignificant (and I am sensitive to windows fyi).

The moonstone is so bright because of all the facets in real life, but in picture taking world this just means it comes out looking like I'm shinning a torch on it or something and it's one massive glare haha. I'm not. Pictures taken inside, it's pouring outside so another fyi. I'll do a proper hand shot when we get some sun.... (which knowing our weather might not be this summer so fingers crossed for next :mrgreen2:). All in all, Sally as usual blew it out of the park.

Ok pictures! (Excuse my exceedingly dry hands, I was doing the dishes when the doorbell rang... and you know we don't stop to put on hand cream here on PS)

Yay!!! It's finally here!

I love it. Look at all the detail work. It looks stunning! :kiss2:
We need hand shots.

Thank you! Promise hand shots when it's sunny out!

Beautiful!!!

Call me crazy, but I think there is something special about a beautiful stone that refuses to photograph well. It's like it knows its own value and wants to be appreciated in person ;-)

Wow MO I've never quite heard it viewed like that before. Its a beautiful way to view it, I love it!

I love how well the soft pastel colours go together but also go so well with the setting. Having such delicate colours in such a big / bold / statementy setting somehow just works here...
