Newbie here! I’m looking for a complete change and would very much appreciate your ideas on how I could re-set my rings using the stones from my existing - but am open to supplementing with others if needed. I’ve put the two options I’ve thought of - would welcome your thoughts on how they’d work/photos of similar set-ups, or if anyone has any other ideas for reconfigurations!

Take 6.3mm 1ct centre from halo and re-set in 2mm knife-edge solitaire setting.

Wedding Band Option 1
Take 8 x 2.3mm 6pt side stones from halo ring and re-set in shared prong full eternity (I’d have to buy some extra 6pt stones for this)

Wedding Band Option 2
Take 7 x 3.5m 25pt from daisy ring and re-set in shared prong half eternity.

May I ask what is motivating this change? I love the daisy ring as is! As to your halo—are you sure you are over it? And you won’t tire if your solitaire and wish you could go back? Your plans are so permanent and depending on who you plan to do the conversion, they might not be very cost effective.

I also want to mention that it’s going to be a big change in finger coverage to go from a halo to a solitaire.

If you are set on switching to a solitaire, I wouldn’t dismantle your current e-ring In case you have regrets. Nor would I dismantle your daisy ring. I think those diamonds set in a band would overwhelm your solitaire and the ring is lovely as-is. My recommendation would be to just reset your center diamond into the 2mm solitaire setting and wear it with one (or both) of your current bands to see how you feel about it. They look like they might be great size-wise with your diamond set as a solitaire. If you aren’t happy with the look, you can make a decision on the band later.

Don't kill the daisy ring! It's so so so pretty!!!

Thanks for this idea! I asked the jeweller who made my halo set to take it apart and he said it couldn’t be done - although it looks from the top like 3 separate rings, it’s actually made as one :-(

Good question! The change is motivated by two things:
- My halo ring set is just too wide @6mm. I stupidly wore it to the gym and really hurt my finger. I can now comfortably wear 4mm, but anything wider won’t work.
- The halo ring was a re-set 5 years ago of a solitaire and channel-set band and I wasn’t really thrilled with the look. I wore it happily for the 5 years, but now I have to make some kind of a change, I’d like to do something different.

I used to wear the daisy ring as a RHR, but haven’t worn it in years.

As for this being a cost-effective project, it’s certainly not :D It seems madness to dismantle perfectly good jewellery!
