so i cant find bridesmaids dresses that everyone at least likes im so stressed. i dont know what to do anymore. im absloutely at my wits end.. i feel like im never going to find them! im at just about 5 months till the wedding and i cant believe im still working on this

help me guys..im having a melt down!

Have you tried JCrew?

OK, date-twin! Deeeep breaths!

Suggestions:

1) Do the dresses HAVE to be the same? Maybe let them pick, within a colour scheme?

2) Time to put the ball in your maids'' court? Ask THEM to come up with a dress they all like. E.g., each one should choose 3 that they like, that meet your criteria. Then they can shop them all around to each other...maybe take turns nixing one each until they settle on one.

3) Keep things in perspective: this won''t really affect your wedding in any REAL way... So try not to panic.

4) Have you tried Bluefly? They''ve got a lot of great dresses!

Good luck!

Yes, something like JCrew / David''s Bridal wher you pick the color, they pick the dress works well. That''s what I did for my 5 very different girls. It was fun to see how they picked something that sort of matched their personality.

Hey, take some deep breathes! You still got plenty of time! How many bridesmaids have you got and what''s the budget?

Some of the best advice I got from my many married friends and sisters - Just a pick a dress YOU like! Dont'' ask all the girls what they want to wear, you''ll never get concensus. Just say here''s the dress, wear it, it''s my wedding!!

I am so sorry to hear that you are SO stressed out. Aren''t weddings supposed to be fun?

In any case, have you chosen a color for the BMs to wear? If so maybe you can find one of those lines of BM dresses that have different styles in the same color. I know David''s Bridal offers that sort of thing. That''s one possibility.

Second, keep in mind that you cannot please everyone, and I think your BMs need to understand that fact. Therefore it might be necessary for you to just make a choice for a BM dress that will suit most of the BMs. This is a dress that they will have to live with for one day out of their lives. SO while their input is important, if there is no concensus then you need to go ahead and make the decision. I am not advising you to be a Bridezilla, but I think the time has come for you to make some decisions that might be unpopular in order to relieve some of your stress. This is necessary most especially becuase you are so close to the wedding date.

Oh my lord, Deco, I LOVE that dress. GAH!

Heartily agree about letting them choose the dress, you choose the color.
Or even say black and let them choose the designer too.
Alfred Angelo does separates which is what my sisters wore and they all loved them.
I''ve been in weddings where i got to choose my own ''little black dress" and it was great.

btw, Deco- that bm dress you posted is incredible! I want one!

Here is a post called 'Most Likely To Flatter' about the best bridesmaid dress EVER.

I loved it so much I almost wore it as my WEDDING DRESS.
Oh oh oh!! The one on the right is the one I picked out for my mother to try for the wedding

It's just beautiful.

Ktcakes, you've gotten a lot of good suggestions! I think it's a really good idea to pick the color, then let them choose their own style. It's really hard to find something that will look nice on everyone, and the more BMs you have, the more difficult it becomes!

Otherwise, you'll be sitting around stressing for more months and months!

BTW, what colors/styles are you thinking? We can look around for you! Anything to help the nerves of a fellow bride

i was looking for chiffon.. my MOH is very large chested and a few are curvy and one is tiny as a rail.... makes it very difficult

please if you can find one i will love you all forever

Are you dead against having them wear different styles in the same colour? Cause it will be hard to find something that flatters all those body types. Except maybe... DECO''S DRESS! That one is awesome. Halter top might be an option.

What if you had the two BMs in matching dresses like you've been wanting, and the MOH in something similar but that sets her apart from the BMs? I've seen this done as well and I think it looks great!

Besides, it's easy to put the two BMs in the same dress, but a larger chest is more difficult (as far as fitting and making HER feel comfortable).

Anyway, you want chiffon (all chiffon?) and ANY neckline, just something that will work for all three (or maybe just the two? maybe?)? Length? Budget?

P.S. Does anyone in the bridal party or in your group of family/friends sew? My MOH will be making her own dress, with fabric I pick out. This is a good way to make sure everything fits your ideas as well as their shapes, they can tailor it exactly to what they need (and I think that works better than simply altering ready-made gowns).

no definatley not against it i would like it to be the same type of material... i found a couple on a website i hope i can find in a store... they are all chiffon and come in all the same colors so that could be good

Here''s my current fave for BM dresses... Jim Hjelm occasions

You can search by fabric, that link shows you chiffon. I assume you can get most of them in any fabric they stock (see the swatches), so you could mix-and-match styles with the color you like!

What are your colors, ktkakes?

ETA: Also, what styles have they tried on and not liked? Sheath, long, short, strapless?

Something like this would be flattering for both curvy and teeny, and you could maybe adjust the neckline dip for the different bust sizes. It comes in all their chiffon colors:

I think the key to pleasing everyone in this case would be to let them choose their own style, but ask that they stick to a line of BM dresses, all in chiffon, all in the same color.

However, if you want them all in the same dress, here''s one that might work:

you guys are awesome... i dont mind if all 5 of them wear something different as long as its the same color and material... i am definaltey doing blue.. going to go tomorrow and pick out the color blue.. there is a line called forever yours that has tons of chiffon dresses that come in all the same colors so that helps... but any suggestions are more than welcome

as for what they have tried on some empire waisted dresses but the chest didnt fit... some sweatheart neckline short dressses but they were not forgiving, some satin..def not the right material

thanks for the pic i looked at acouple of them a few minutes ago..great minds must think alike!
