I just tried to call the hall director to set up a time to pay my balance, etc and her phone number is disconnected! She is the owner/director so its the only number they have. I then tried to mail her and it was returned to me and said it failed. She did send me one email from a different address so I sent the email to that one and it went through but I don''t know if it will be checked or replied to. I''m so frustrated... I just want to cry! My wedding is in a month and the only option I would have if they are out of business or something is to have it at the local rec center which has a couple of ballrooms...

Hmm that is pretty strange. Why not try going over to the venue in person? That way you can get hold of someone else who can fill you in on what''s going on.

OH...MY...GAWD!!! i would be FREAKING!!! is there any way you can go over there and try to talk to someone in person? maybe she forgot to pay a bill or something and it''ll be fixed soon. i wish ya luck!

Agreed. Maybe it is just a fluke with their internet and phone service, which often comes from the same company. Hope you can get some answers!

I would like to drive over there.... but she is only there by appointment so it would basically be a 30 minute drive with a 99.9% chance that she won''t be there when we arrive. I will definitely do it though if she doesn''t call me/email me shortly!

Is the venue far away? Maybe you can stop by in person to talk to the director and see whats going on.

Oh God!!!! That does not sound good. I would quickly head over there and hopefully find out what''s going on.....

I would be over to the venue in a shot. Even if she is by appointment only, I would still go over to check that everything is ok with the venue. If you can''t get talking to her, there should be some other staff member that you could have a word with.

Ditto.

I once learned that a venue I had booked for a retirement party had gone out of business only when another venue called to ask whether I wanted to re-schedule for their location! Get over there ASAP (or ask a friend who lives nearer the facility to do so) and just ask whoever is around. If the place has gone under, nearby businesses would probably know about it.

OMG!! I would be driving to the location even if it were a 90 minute drive!! She has got some explaining to do. Even if she forgot to pay a bill or something that is totally unprofessional.

So I drove out there to check out things and the sign hasdthe old number covered up with the new phone number so that made me feel alot better! While we were there looking around, another couple drove up who were supposed to meet her in 15 mins so at least I know she''s alive and the hall is still functioning. I''m pretty upset that I wasn''t notified of the changes... that''s enough to make any bride have a major freak-out... but I''m glad that I was able to contact her and set up an appointment for Thursday.

On another note... we saw the new outdoor area that they were working on over the off-season. I think I hate it. The facility is nice and garden-y but then she added extra STUFF outside. There''s a stone walkway which is very nice... and some new plants which were still in their plastic pots so I assume they will be planted properly by the wedding.... but she has like 4 metal archways(all non-matching) and some metal furniture (non-matching) and lots of doo-dads like windchimes and things that stick in the ground.... and white christmas lights strung between the trees. The site was nice and classy before and I think she really has made it look bad! I don''t know what to do about it... none of it seems to be removable
