Recut advice

Hi there,

I've asked this question before but it has been awhile so I would like to ask the colored gems experts again. If you have one precious stone that need a recut, whom would you trust??

I know the cutter isn't liable but it took me awhile to find an unheated Vietnamese pink sapphire so I want to make sure that I can find a cutter who is well known to fix damaged stone.

Here is the sapphire I bought. It's small as is so I prefer to keep it close to its weight as much as possible. Thank you so much in advance

First, can I say what a stunning piece this is?! That color is gorgeous!

I haven't personally had anything recut but I have seen some nice re cuts done by Dan Stair, on the PS approved list.

100% without a doubt, Dan Stair! He's a magician with recuts. He makes stones look amazing with minimal weight loss. Plus, he's a nice guy to work with.

I agree that Dan Stair does very nice work. I bought a chrysoberyl that was re-cut by him and I love it.

Wow, thank you for the responses! I will definitely reach out to Jerry for 2nd opinion. These were the two I had in mind also but after the first few recommendations, I had only contacted Dan. Dan recommended a full recut but I'm concerned it will end up a beautiful but very small sapphire. I already paid quite a bit for this sapphire already and would like to have a decent size to justify another expensive setting. Definitely will follow up on the recut result. Thanks again
