Red Spinel Engagement Ring W/ 4 Side Diamonds-Updated Again

Hello,
I just wanted to update my post with new specs (since I''ve had a formal appraisal done), and new pics that I hope are a bit clearer than the previous ones.

Specs:

Spinel- Strong medium dark, orangish red in saturation, tone and hue - Clarity: Moderately included (equal to SI- slightly included)- Carat: 1.60-1.75 , MM Size: 7.25 mm x 6.75 mm x 4.8 mm deep- Refractive Index: 1.712-1.718

Side Diamonds (4): Clarity- SI1, Color: GHI (near colorless)- Carat: .40 CT total weight

Can someone tell me if the ring setting looks like it is set to high? The appraiser said it was an "atypical" height, and I am not used to wearing jewelry, so I have no real way of knowing. Thanks in advance for all your help.

The stone looks pretty hot

and set rather high allright

This might be "typical" , but there''s no way to call that a "low" setting.

It may or may not be feasible to change the head holding the stone to something lower and keep the band intact. That is one Q for better answered with the ring at hand.

no problem! i think it''s beautiful!! not sure why it is considered atypical and high? it''s not any higher than a traditional diamond setting.....maybe just high for a colored stone? whatever the case, it''s amazing! the color is super!!

Thanks so much all all your compliments, everyone! I really appreciate them. I really do love the ring. I am still trying to adapt to its height, and the fact that my fingers are smaller due to the cold weather. It''s a little big right now, but hopefully spring will be here real soon. Thanks again.
