Hi all,

I'm going to be going to HK in a few weeks while I am visiting my family in China with two days planned in Hong Kong.

I was looking to see if anyone knew of any reputable CS dealers either in GuangZhou or Hong Kong I can visit during my trip.

I have been dying over a yellow sapphire from a fellow PSer, which is outside my budget. I was thinking of picking up a few cheap CS (Im definitely jonesing for the components of a a potential dears pendant...and maybe a strand of ss pearls) to tide me over.

Also, I am wondering what are your best haggling tips? I'm not sure how different the jewelry scene is but i have seen my family haggle over 5rmb t shirts before sooo I assume jewelry will be the same. Personally I am a TERRIBLE haggler, and would love some advice! I plan on being armed with all the knowledge I find here on ps but any additional insight would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a good place to find a general price per carat for gemstones like the rapaport reports for diamonds?

Check Tommy Orlandi on Facebook. I've not bought any from him but he looks to have nice stuff.

Please don’t ever reach out to him. I just recently won a PayPal dispute case with him. He sent me Tourmalines with fractures inside.

:evil2: on him! Good to know!

That's super bully! Thanks for the heads up @Gemobsessed!

@Burmesedaze I'm still going through the list from the HK convention, hoping I could find good reviews for physical shops.

Beware about the notorious loophole of PayPal, that will always take parts of the buyer rather than the seller.. I have been busy for the last 3 months with an Indian buyer in Singapore, **edited by moderator, no full names please**, that wrote this about me... she asked me to find seafoam tourmalines for her, after offering several pieces she accepted a set of 3 and she asked me to recut one gem.. she asked what kind of guarantee I would give on the recut stone and I said I don’t take responsibility on how the gem looks after recut, as she wanted a cushion from another shape.. she never asked me for the clarity, that was expressed with images and videos.. I told her the purchase was final and no returns were accepted since she wanted to break a set of 3 matching gems. Once received the gem she had some sort of buyer remorse and started to send me images of inclusions in the stone with a loupe.. and she said the gem was not eye clean (not eye clean under 10X magnification for sure).. bottom line she blocked me and file a complaint.. note she asked me to declare only 200$ value but when she sent back she declared the full amount paid 720$ that was included of freights..
Now as china is strict on importations I have to pay more than 500$ to release my stones from customs..

Incredible.. beware some people play around loopholes like this one on PayPal, to remove any risk from buying online with total disrespect of trade rules and regulations (like returning a broken pair or set, or returning a recut gem).

I want to raise the awareness about this risks, the person itself, the “buyer” is well mannered but gave me a 1,300$ problem.

I clearly don’t suggest to anyone to deal **edited by moderator, no full names please*

With what face she now suggest to someone not to deal with me?
I had over 250 deals last year and my reputation is impeccable, this lady I am answering is the only person that had problems with me.. she is a very bad person in my opinion..

Anyone else is welcomed to try my gemstones
