Hi! I really value this community! I want to reset my 1ct pear on a pave band with pave hidden halo/ basket and possibly pave prongs .maybe to is called micro pave? Not sure what it is called.

In any case, I want a Costum handforged ring, and I need a moderate price range, I am not overlay assertive so I need easy costumer service and niceness, and also someone who has a good eye and if I give a few pictures similar to what I want, I can trust that what they draw up is likely to be beautiful and even if I don't come back with a million recommendations and changed their own eye will know proportions etc... I also want it to have as little metal as possible in the pave work- to look as dainty and fluid as possible.

i didn't reach out to anyone yet- but based on instagram and reviews here I think maytal Hanna and Bde have nothing done these a lot With round and cushion shapes and are in the price range I need.VC has done round like this that I adore but I think he is a bit ugh for me price range wise and I'm guessing he anyway wouldn't want to work on my own pear stone.

somehow I feel like the pave shines more and shows less metal in bde Instagram but I'm wondering if that is just the way the pictures are taken. Their Instagram occurs have a diff style from each other.

any thoughts on why I might choose one or the other? These are inspiration pictures - may ads small donut but this is basic idea of what I want adopted for a pear.

I have would work with Maytal if you want a handforged ring that is reasonable.

Or you could reach out to David Klass and just let him know you want handforged. He could likely arrange that for you.

I think I want hand forged? Maybe o don't need it? I know I needs to be a costum Setting. Is that automatically hand forged?

No, it is not automatically hand forged. What is your budget for the setting? That may determine what you can have done.

Not sure of exact budget. Is maytal always hand forged? BE and maytal both ahev gorgeous pictures and I can't tell if there are consistent differences in their style or not for the pave bands and baskets

in fact i think lots of vendors can do settings like this, as long as melees are placed tightly together. and yes, i don't think vc wants to work on stones provided by customers. i echo that because i got turned down by him because of this.

Ooh- so sorry- was that recently that you were turned down? Who did you end up going with

I'm working with Maytal on a ring right now. Her price was very reasonable compared to some others I reached out to, and she's very nice, communicative, and easy to work with. She is working with stones I provided which some will not do.

Her work is always hand forged

yes, in june, i had whiteflash build the ring for me instead. here is my post:

Thank you for the encouragement! For her and for any custom design- it seems like it's normal to ahve a basic idea on which I get a price and then I will probably make adjustments to the design or wrk off an inspiration that gets adjusted. It seems like that is usually what happens. Do I ask for an estimate on the basic idea I have? And then they tell me if the fee goes up or down as things get changed? No one gets annoyed that the design gets tweaked ? I always worry about annoying people so I get afraid to ask until I'm very sure of the exact design but on the other hand knowing the price range can help me know I I can add more to it or not and getting the designers input is important.

Some vendors will give you an estimate right off the bat without knowing much other than material and basic design (do they need to source side stones, etc). And some will want to work through the details of the design a little more before giving a quote. So it just depends. I think any vendor doing custom work is probably used to discussions back and forth to tweak the design so that shouldn’t be a problem. If it is a problem for them then maybe they’re not the right designer for you (I wouldn’t want to work with someone if I didn’t feel comfortable communicating design ideas and changes)
