Hi
I havnt posted for a few years but was an avid reader - then my 20 year marriage fell apart and my life took on a different turn. I am back to being myself, raising my child and living life. I have a beautiful half eternity ring which has been sitting in the drawer for the las 3 years and I am now wondering what I can do with it. I would like to wear it as a ring on the middle finger - it is way too small.
any recommendations of a good but affordable jeweller who can reset, even sightly alter the look (but still keep it a band of sparkles :-) )

I adore the ring and have wanted something like this prior to ever being married, so I want to be able to use it again, ideally looking a little less like an half eternity, but at minimum I need to change the setting so it is my ring again ( if that makes sense )

the band is platinum ( happy to go with a cheaper material), and 9 f colour 15 point stones from memory. I can ship to the US - I am in australia - so Australian vendors also welcome . Not sure if this is the right section to post anymore ☺️

David Klass in Los Angeles is a favorite on PS, and I have a few pieces created by him. His quality is excellent. Regrettably, I have no suggestions for vendors in Australia, but there are so many Aussie members on here, I'm sure someone will pop up.

Rearrange to diamond shape? 1-2-3-2-1. Individually bezeled to set them apart or shared prong to make a smoosh effect?

One diamond in the center, octagonal metal bezel, eight diamonds surrounding, second octagonal metal bezel on the outside?

Looking at the shank, the non diamond bit, I think that could be added to without too much trouble, it currently seems slightly “out of round”.
If you are in Sydney, Australia I can recommend my jeweller Jarrett Jewellery, they are in the Town Hall arcade (heading off towards the Blood Bank).
Sending jewellery overseas for remodeling etc is expensive ( 2 x shipping and insurance, especially as we can’t use USPS currently due to Covid) AND it can be tricky re importing the ring aka being hit with customs / GST.
You might have to pay the customs upfront before delivery and then going through the joy of claiming it back. It takes them 3 seconds to take your money and weeks to give it back.

I adore the ring and have wanted something like this prior to ever being married,

I say wear it and enjoy it as it is since you always wanted this ring. I've always wanted a 5 stone ring and I would gotten one regardless of my relationship status.

I agree with @Bron357 n357. It's better to get the repair done locally or you may pay import duties. Some US vendors told me they would declare the reset value. But that makes me question if the insured value will include my stones.

If you go local, be sure you ask to see their finished platinum pieces and if they have a laser welder. Run as fast as you can if they say they use solder. I had a terrible nickel allergy reaction when the jeweler used white gold solder on my platinum ring. I was fortunate to find another jeweler who would repair it.

What about having it resized and then having the smooth part of the band engraved? It will give it a slightly different look at a
minimal cost I would think (have it done locally). I know that might not be enough of a change for you...I'd just keep it as-is and
wear it on my RH ring finger (but that's me).
