Resetting question

Hi all!

I changed my mind on an e-ring setting and had my 0.7 carat round diamond reset into a different setting. That new setting was not produced correctly, and I’m sending it back a second time to be reset again into (hopefully) the final setting.

My question is - is it ok to reset a diamond multiple times, or could it potentially damage it? I’m not thrilled to be in this position (having to send it back due to workmanship issues) and worry about my diamond being handled so often. Any insights would be appreciated!

There is always a chipping risk while setting a diamond, but setting a smaller round is less risky than setting say a 1.5ct princess. It should be just fine as long as the vendor has skilled setters.
