Hi,

I recently purchased a ring by Antonio Pineda, a rather well known Mexican Taxco artist, and am looking to have it resized. Unfortunately, I have not found anyone who is willing to do this, given that much of the value of the ring is associated with 3 maker and origin marks. I do think the ring has been resized in the past, and probably made larger, so I am looking to take it back to probably something closer to the original size. I would also consider putting dots in it to make it smaller. I live in a large city, Phla., and have tried quite a few shops with no success. Does anyone know of someone in the Phila. area who would do this?

Thanks much!

Not in Philly but curious as to what it looks like. Must be bezel set?

Hi,

I just saw this reply. I ended up getting dots added to the ring rather than resizing it. A picture of the ring is attached, but it doesn't show the ring part all that well. I had the dots added at Cuggini's -- a place I highly recommend for very economical jewelry repair/resizing.

Ah, I understand now after re-reading, the jewelers were afraid of ruining the stamps inside the band, I was thinking they were concerned about the stone but a jeweler could easily remove that one before putting any heat to it.
Very pretty by the way. Best regards, Lee
