Hi, having all these loose gems is killing me and I have a budget to set just one of them. But which one?
They are all Ivy and Rose settings btw.
1. The 8mm yellow RB sapphire simple white gold ring
2. The 9 x7 ruby into the diamond halo ring
3. The 9 x7 purple sapphire (yuk pic) into the same halo ring
4. The 9 x 7 ruby but into the double diamond halo ring.
5. The 7mm Velvet blue RB sapphire into the yellow gold with ruby target ring.
6. The 6mm hot pink RB sapphire into the white gold with emerald target ring.
Photos (probably out of order) to give you an idea.
Many thanks.36FA905E-4245-4C6F-9846-388ED58C6633.jpegE9B20349-CC1E-4F64-A49C-40C0C78A27A9.jpeg225495E1-25DF-4855-90A2-59DF7AE92ACF.jpeg403C78F5-AB0C-45A1-ACBF-0D0E363E6396.jpeg187B46BA-C456-464A-A974-DDB3A4ECF838.jpeg75003B21-3FDA-49B0-B06E-5D0F8C154233.jpeg6805EAD5-8AE4-4784-8D7D-832E3300505E.jpeg

I'm too new to colored gemstones and gemstone jewelry to give any coherent thoughts, but I was drawn to the first two options more than the others. Of the first two, I thought the ruby in the halo was a "fancier" piece than the yellow sapphire in the engraved setting. My thought is that if you can only set one right now, go for the more dramatic or fancier piece.

I vote to halo one of the rubies. Lucky you to have so many options! I can’t wait to see what you choose.

Can I see the stones against the back of your hand?

I'm kinda obsessed with that octagon setting. Plunk anything in it that fits!!!!

I like 4 & 5 the most :))

I feel like the pink sapphire deserves a sparklier setting. Since it is so sparkly. So I would set the ruby. And I would probably pick between the settings based on how open the basket was and whether it was bezeld vs prong (it's hard to see but it looks like one of these choices is bezel and the other is not?). Have you tried to wrap it in tin foil to see what an enclosed bezel will look like? Also does one of these offer a little metal beneath the stone? I feel like the ruby is so sleepy it could use something glinty (totally not a word, I know) beneath it.

I like the last one the best. I feel like the ruby needs something thats more high end. Also not a fan of bezels unless done super thin and delicate so I am biased.

Yellow sapphire in octagon!!!!!!

Yellow sapphire in octagon!!!!!!

I like the octagon setting too!
I looked into getting a stone set in that setting but the final cost came to $598, which seemed too high compared to the original $225 so I ditched the idea.

I think the pink sapphire looks really nice and stands out beautifully against your hand.
I love the ruby but feel that it needs a nicer setting.
Do they have a round halo for either of those? Second choice for me would be the purple in the oval double halo or the scalloped one with the NSEW points.

I chose the last one because it's different. It think your stone needs something special.

Did Ivy and Rose set it for you? I’m trying to work out if that might be cheaper than setting it here in Australia.

The pink sapphire in the diamond and emerald halo would be an eyecatching and bold combo! :lickout:

Halo the ruby! I think the yellow sapphire needs to be set in yellow gold.

Ya to set it and size it down, and modify bc my stone is slightly bigger = $598.

I voted for the ruby in a halo. I think that will be beautiful.
My second vote was for the pink sapphire because it's a gorgeous color.

I think the ruby in the single halo would be absolutely gorgeous.

Pink sapphire or the ruby in a single halo setting!
Second choice: the yellow stone in the octagon setting

I am leaning to number 6. I like the color play of bright pink, green and white to compliment the spring season- very fresh. My only concern would be if the emeralds are saturated enough (hard to tell from pics) to be close enough in saturation to your pink sapphire. Number 2 would also IMHO be a very nice choice. Whatever you choose- I am sure it will be beautiful.
