This ring is from Janish Jewels, with a 7.22x 5.44x 3.66mm Morogoro spinel from John at Gemrite, with his usual superb cutting. Dealing with Jill at was great and her Etsy shop became a new favorite of mine. She is also superfast, which is a great thing.

This spinel was set in a bracelet from Sally, which is posted here https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/heart-of-water-spinelbracelet-and-aqua-ring.125660/. I'm not much of a bracelet wearer, I realized after a few months. I got tired of this gorgeous spinel sitting in my jewelry box and sent it off to Jill to be reset. As you see in these pictures (white balance is adjusted in some of them) the spinel has many faces and some fluoro. What's great is that I love all of its different moods and the saturation is strong, which the yellow 18k carat gold only enhances, as opposed to the silver in the bracelet.

Beautiful ring, just lovely, and unique, like all your pieces! Great spinel! Are the side stones diamonds?

The bracelet is gorgeous, but I know it's a shame if you never wear it, you should enjoy the lovely stones in it. What are your plans for the bracelet?

And some more pictures. Although yellow gold is not my favorite with my skin tone, I love this ring. It brings to mind Rome and an ancient Roman stile.

I thought that too, it reminds me of an Ancient Etruscan or Roman piece. Just lovely!!

Thanks TL :)

I've been wearing one part of the bracelet as a pendant, it actually works really well, especially with my new spinel earrings. The small 5mm pink asscher spinel in the bracelet, I intend to set into a ring, in a halo of baguettes, which I'm collecting from one vendor of used diamonds. And yes, these are 3mm old mine cut diamonds, maybe L in color, but pretty white looking. They honestly would be better off in a prong setting I think or earrings, but they are good enough and in some lights sparkle like mad.

Great new ring, Mariedtiger! I love how the hot pick looks with the yellow gold. Enjoy!

Thank you Novel :) In some lights the spinel turns that elusive red and then it looks especially gorgeous with the yellow gold.

TL: I wanted to add that I really loved that bracelet made by HOWJ, especially because it was carved all by hand and of beautiful workmanship. I will look into having it made properly into a pendant and earrings, so I can use those carved parts and the gems.
So many projects, so little time

BTW, I wanted to tell you how much I really like your new photos. I think you have the white balance thing figured out!! :appl:

Gorgeous color combo! Morogoro is very near me so it's neat to see stones from there.

Thanks TL, I appreciate it. Now if I could only get it to work with orange :D

Kelpie, that is interesting to hear! These gems travel such distances. I myself am in Scandinavia.

Jill does really great work. I've got a couple of stones I need to get to her (I need to make more money!!!! ;( ) I have a star sapphire and a ruby cab that I would LOVE for her to set as a pair of stackers.

Thanks Arcadian, I hear you on the money thing. I have so many projects right now that I finally want to get done, not including the gems that I would like to order. But I guess I will be content to amuse myself by taking these new pretties out on a walk in the sun :naughty:

yeah I know. We need to win the lottery  I've put my anniversary ring at the front of the line, so anything else will have to wait until its finished. That ring is just beautiful so I can't wait to see what she does with my stones.

This is really beautiful, Mariedtiger. The color of the spinel with the rich color of the gold is delectable, and I am a huge fan of Jill's granulation in her gold work. It looks very graceful and balanced on your hand, too. :appl: :appl: :appl:

Very pretty ring. The gold brings out the garnet's color beautifully -- can't wait to see how you re-do the bracelet into a pendant; bet it will look terrific too, you have such a good eye.

Ahhhh, my heart skipped a beat when I saw that fabulous colored Spinel !!!!

I don't recall the bracelet, but I am sure that it was beautiful too
But if you will get much more pleasure from the ring, then you have made a wonderful choice,
It is gorgeous !!!!
And I agree about the photos, stunning color !!!!

Lovely ring! I love the delicious combo of 18k with that spinel. Really brings out the color! :cheeky:

Gorgeous ring.....Jill is a true artist and I'm so glad that she made you happy!

Beautiful ring and pendant MT, I admire all the pieces you posted.

Thank you everyone for the lovely comments and for looking :) Lately I've been aiming for smaller and more vivid gems. The good thing about smaller gems is that it's easier to avoid banging the rings around so much.

Jill is great! I plan to start a project with her, and I like her style. She is super-fast and super-professional; her store is my favorite too. She has two stores on Etsy. I have to look for the name of the second one.

I adore your ring mariedtiger! :appl:

Crasru, I couldn't agree more! Actually, thank you for the inspiration, your pink spinel in yellow gold from her was my impetus for this ring :)

Thanks Brandy! :))

MT,
You have such eclectic tastes! It has a touch of old and a touch of new, and the stones are a beautiful combination and colour.

Very pretty ring. Love the contrast of the stone and the gold.

This looks (as I think MZ says) equally modern and like it could have come out of an archaeological dig. Really beautiful. I love the color combo!

Beautiful reset!! Love your spinel color and the 18k yg setting! Excellent craftsmanship!!! Enjoy

Hmm. I might have to consider her for setting my rubellite!

Can I ask what became of the bracelet then?

Thanks again everyone :) Sorry MTG, I missed your question completely. The bracelet is in pieces right now, but I can wear the pieces as a pendant, heh. There is an Egyptian asscher pink spinel there, that I will also reset with diamonds as soon as I can. There are some very beautiful hand carved panels in that bracelet, but I thought I could maybe reuse them in earrings, I really appreciate all the hours of work that went into carving them. But bracelets are not for me. I remember that again now
