Ring Too Loose

Hi,

My diamond ring (size 6) is fairly loose, especially in the colder weather. The stone is constantly trying to flip to the underside and rests down next to the knuckle, about 7mm away from where it looks good!

I hesitate to resize the ring in the cold weather. Is there any removable type of sizing solution? I''ve read something about sizing beads....are they put in permanently by the jeweler or are they something I could put on and off the ring as needed?

I''d appreciate any suggestions as I''m getting quite distracted trying to keep the thing on the top side of my finger all the time.

You could get a ring guard, which is a piece of metal that goes across the inside of the ring and attaches to each side. Or, there are other options for adjustable bands and bands with "grips," which as I understand it are little round pieces of metal that are installed inside the band so it can grip your finger a little tighter where it''s smaller (someone please correct me if I''m wrong!). Just a note, but the beads are a permanent solution. I mean, technically you could have your goldsmith polish them out, but that is not something you would do every 6 months or so...

I have the same problem, and finally just decided to size my ring down a 1/4 size. Now it doesn''t slide around as much, but if my hands are really hot, the ring is very difficult to get off. But that little inconvenience was well worth it in my opinion!!

Ring Snuggies! They are little plastic tubes that fit over the shank of the ring. You can take them on and off anytime and they don''t scratch the ring. You can also cut them to fit any size you need. You can get them at those costume jewelry stores in the mall like Claire''s

when i was sized at my favorite jeweler, they told me always to get a snug fit on the ring... esp if you''re being sized on a hot day. you get used to the ring being a little tighter after a while... esp if since its prob NOT something you want to lose!! so if it''s loose normally and is worse in cold weather, I wouldn''t take my chances on it slipping off!! hehe but I love my ering so maybe im a bit possessive! I would go to a jeweler you trust and have them size you properly, and see what they say... i would prob prefer to have it sized down a bit...
