Okay, I''ll be keeping my current wedding band when I upgrade. It''s 14K yellow gold, ARTCARVED, and I am going to match it with a yellow gold band with my new stone. Question is, I have my current stone, a .42, that i would like to set into a ring for my right hand so I can still wear it. . .

I found this ring that I like, but it''s white gold and although it''s available in yellow gold, I don''t think it would look right in this metal color. Would it look bad to have a flashy white gold ring on my right hand and a subtle yellow gold band with a still smallish/medium (depending upon prospective) diamond (around .90 carats) on my left hand?

I have LOTS of time to figure out what to do with my current stone, but am obsessing already

There''s a ton of gorgeous rings out there, but I do like this one and it''s about the LIMIT (and slightly over that) of what I can afford for my RHR mounting.

What do you think?

Michelle

(It's from Dirtcheapdiamonds if anyone is interested in it. . .)

oooh i really like that setting, esp from the side. a pscoper just bought it--have you seen his SMTR post?

anyway plenty of people are mixing golds and silvers these days; if you like it, go for it!

I haven't seen the post yet, but will check it out! Another person also purchased it and set it w/an asscher and the ring looked fabulous. I'm wanting an asscher too, but will have to wait until my husband needs another favor. The upgrade is coming as part of a deal my husband and I made. Call me bad, but I blackmailed him

Okay, found it in the eyecandy folder. It's very substantial on the lady's finger there! Oooh, I love it.

It'd look nice also as a solo ring on the left hand. Hmmmm. . lol

Okay, I could easily go insane picking out the right ring!

My upgrade e-ring and band is platinum, and I often wear it with a yellow gold anniversary ring that DH gve me. I like the two together. They are similarly styled so that they are complementary and the different colors add some variety/interst. (IMO

). I guess it depends on the two rings, but in general, I don't think the different metal colors is a bad thing. Your hands are pretty far apart -- especilly if you talk with them like I do.

kudos on the negotiated upgrade!

Thanks, my artcarved ring is an antique replica so hopefully these two styles will match.

The negotiation does come with a set of requirements. Ah, I think I have a stomach ache

We're remodeling our current house to put on the market in ONE month, we're moving into an RV (four of us!!!) for the month after that while we remodel the house we JUST bought!

Can you say pass me the Xanax? How about some Thorazine!?! Oh my god! lol

Also, I'm planning THREE rings in the next six months (my b-day RHR: the simple band one, my upgrade, and the setting for my current .42 RB). Insanity. I was packing my closet and got attacked by endless packets of photos & old navy clothing tags which apparently I have a habit of sticking up on the top shelf of my closet.

Michelle, I think that would make a gorgeous right hand ring! And wow, you have my admiration on the RV thing and renovation thing. I've put Prozac in the mail to you.

Wow. Sounds as if you will have your hands full. After the fact it won't seem so bad, and I'm sure will be completely worth it. In the meantime, take some deep breaths and keep your sense of humor!

Good luck!

Whoa--that's a lot of projects...Brave woman! Good luck!

PS setting is lovely. It will look nice on your petite hands.

hahaha - thanks, I'll be needing something. I do have xanax, but tend to just lay around or space out when I take it!
