My fyuture wife picked out a Ritani setting with diamonds all around the band.

Quick question: What color diamonds does Ritani use in its settings? What color diamond should I be searching for to match?

I have a Ritani setting, the melee is F colored.

To my recollection, Ritani uses F-G melee in their rings. But you don''t have to stick exactly to the sidestone color for the ring to match and look great. If the sidestones are large, you will probably want to stay within 1 color grade of them, but if they are small melee, you can go a couple color grades away. Honestly, I wouldn''t select a center stone to match a setting, I''d get the setting to match the center stone of my choice. A lot of the designer comapnies will allow you to specify what color melee/sidestones you want them to use, so I''d call them and ask once you choose your perfect center stone.

What is a melee? I apologize for my ignorance.

Hmmm, I''m pretty sure I was told G when I was looking at Ritani. But in any event, the diamonds are very small, and you can really go with any color center stone. My personal preference was G-H, but you can go down to I-J, I''m sure, with no problem.

Can I purchase the setting directly from Ritani? I tried to find a web page but was unsuccesful in doing so.

Melee just means tiny diamonds! No, you have to buy Ritani through a jeweler. My recommendation if you''d like a discount is to contact Pearlman''s Jewelers (website under Resources/vendors above).

Melee refers to small diamonds...like those used for pave work.

Didn''t see this yet when I posted FF! That explains it, then...F-G. He should be fine with as low as I at least.

I agree...talk to Bill Pearlman. We considered a Ritani setting with diamonds 3/4 of the way around from him before we chose mine. It was beautiful. I was picky about it matching my center stone, though, and Bill told us that we could specify what color melee they would use, such as H-I.

Haha...I was thinking the same thing. Though you beat me with the Pearlman''s recommendation! :)

You all are awesome. I appreciate all the help!!!!

I''m going to contact Pearlman''s.

beautiful! that''s a very popular style these days. it''s full of sparkle!
you don''t *have* to get a center stone to ''match'' the melee. a well cut larger diamond of lower color will face up just as white.
best of luck to you!

I love that!! Do you guys know if that can be made in yellow gold? Also, are those ever done with six prongs?

Wow, what a setting! You are going to love that when the sun hits it.

I was thinking g or h. I really want to stay around 1 carat. I was hoping I could get away with a 5000 budget on stone.

jarret. I purchased my stone from Bill pearlman. He doesn''t list them on his site but he''s got some gorgeous diamonds in his inventory and can also get just about anything in that isn''t already owned by another vendor. If you are thinkng of purhcasing the Ritani from him, I''d let him know your budget and let him help you with the stone.

Hi All ,

Ritani uses VS G-H quality but if you want higher quality you can order them. They also are available in yellow gold with 4 or 6 prongs on most rings with single tip or claw. Hope this answers the questions.

Thanks Bill.

Is 5000 enough to get a nice diamond? I mean I''m doing all these searches and it is spitting out different diamonds. I just want a really nice cut diamond. G or H. SI1. 1 carat.

jarret you should be able to get a nice diamond for 5K. Give Bill a call or email (he''s quick to respond to emails and does so personally) and he''ll be able to help you. He''s a complete gentleman.

That's the EXACT setting I loved and Bill sent me to look at! It is STUNNING in person! It was VERY sparkly. Too sparkly and flashy for me, but beautiful nontheless. He has it set with a huge CZ though, so maybe that's part of why I found to to be too much. :) You can get a gorgeous 1 carat center stone at that budget if that's what you're aiming for...I'm sure Bill can help you out.

Does anyone have a pic of this setting with a radiant? Preferably rectangularish? (Or even just SEEN this setting with such a stone?)
Thanks!
