He proposed! And it really was a surprise!
The ring arrived at UPS today, so we went to pick it up at lunch. There were 2 boxes - one empty (the jeweler initially forgot to pack the ring!) and one with the ring. As soon as we got back to the car, we each tore open a box. I was positive mine had the ring in it, and sure enough I found the WhiteFlash ring box... I closed my eyes and opened it up for bf to look at... and it was empty! It turned out his box had the ring wrapped up in a little plastic baggy!
At first I wasn''t sure I wanted to see it, but he told me to put it on. After staring at it and contemplating for a while, he said something along the lines of "Can this be it? Or do you want a separate proposal?" I didn''t know what to say back to that, so I kind of shrugged and told him he could do whatever he wanted. So he said "Okay, this is it." I stared back for a while and he asked "Am I supposed to say something?" Then he asked if I was doing anything next September... and FINALLY asked if I would marry him.
He''s such a goof!
He said he felt like he couldn''t wait until later to propose because it would be mean to take away the ring. And he also seemed rather relieved that he didn''t have to come up with an elaborate plan.
Oh, and I didn''t cry, but I did have a rather large and silly grin pasted to my face.
Heehee, I feel giddy!
It''s been tough to concentrate on work because I just keep trying to sneak glimpses of my ring!
The ACA sidestones are seriously amazing...
And I''m still getting acquainted with my sapphire in different angles and lighting
