My pair of 6.5mm rose cuts arrived and they’re GORGEOUS  I got them from JuliaB Jewelry on Etsy who was great to deal with. The colours that come off them are insane. They look very realistic and not at all plasticky

They're gorgeous. How will you have them set?

Oh wow! What beautiful stones! I think this is an awesome way to try out a cut you desire, but maybe aren't sure about, without the huge investment. And, you can experiment with settings too! I can't wait to see the final product!

I’m thinking the basket will be a buttercup style like this poor photoshop effort - maybe less exaggerated petals but tiny prongs to hold the stones in place. Will see what the jeweller can draw up though..

Oh yay! I’ve got the rose cut bug something fierce. Love getting to see real life photos.

I bought 9 2mm rose cut diamonds last year to make a band and thought “oh yes, these are pretty and also they do big flashes so will go with my single cuts and OEC”... then I saw LAD’s pictures and video of her moissy rose cuts and I was like “OH!” And I got the rose cut bug too :lol-2: now I’m all impatient to get them set!!

So I got to thinking and drawing over the weekend as I’ve not been able to get to the jeweller yet.
Feedback? opinions? Thinking I’ll go all YG but maybe see if they can rhodium plate the inside of the head.

Love it!!! :appl:

1CD309B9-695A-4E37-9652-6E362CE08C8A.jpeg Ring is done! Hand shots at work are a bit average but I’ll do better ones with the loupe when I get home.
I had it made to fit my middle finger but prefer the look on my ring finger so I’m wearing it stacked today until I work out if I do want to size it down or what!
I simplified the profile to an almost collet-style which needs a proper close up to appreciate. Enjoying it very much

Gorgeous!

LOVE this idea (and I’m not usually a fan of rose cuts, but this looks perfect!)!!!

I didn't end up using this for the ring but I'm sorely tempted to get some more and make earrings like this.

@foxinsox Oh, I love your new ring and eagerly await more pics! It's so beautiful, I am now becoming a rose cut admirer. The stones look like liquidy diamond. Gorgeous choice of ring design too, another ring element I am beginning to really appreciate as well! Enjoy it!

I’ve decided I’m definitely going to have it resized for my ring finger as I knocked it 6 times already on my middle finger (and the coverage is much better on my ring finger ) but otherwise I’m delighted. Took some pics outside this morning as it looks fantastic in natural light (tho my photos aren’t really showing the colours that come off these stones)

Very beautiful - like the design of the ring!

Definitely beautiful & definitely a ring finger ring, not a middle finger ring. I love this! Who made the setting? Did I miss that part? I know you're in NZ & I lived in Wellington many years ago & had a favourite jeweller there.

I missed saying it! I got it set at Canterbury Jewellers who are a manufacturing jeweller with a wee shop attached to a big workshop. I just took it back to get the undersides opened up - they set it with closed backs as is usual for rose cuts but I can’t get the stones clean enough with it closed. I really like them as they’re good at taking an idea or sketch and turning it into reality. And I love that they’re doing the work and not sending it out so I can talk directly to the jewellers. Who’re starting to get to know me now
Love Wellington! I go there often for work. It’s a great city. Who was your jeweller there? You’re in the UK now?

Your ring is Fantastic!! It turned out gorgeous, that is making many of us jealous! Well Done!

Thank you! I’m really pleased with it (and now have so many other plans and not enough fingers haha)

I am an obsessive cleaner too, so I like to be able to get into cracks. The jeweller I use here, although there is a fancy shop, actually has his workshop upstairs & everything is done on site. It's great to have that facility & skill local. Please post more pictures of your Rosie's - I'd love to see the underside!

I am British & moved to Welly on a whim just after I lost my dad. One of my best friends moved there a few years before, so I had been out twice previously & knew I loved it. I stayed for almost 3 years before heading back to England due to some boyfriend issues. The jeweller I used there was Partridge Jewellers on Lambton Quay. Grant was amazing - check out his site. My eyes always popped out of my head every time I walked past! Highly recommend a visit next time you fly North!

Came back this thread to post a pic I got of some cool colours coming off my rosies today and realised I'd missed replying to you @Alex T - my DH's wedding band is from Partridge Jewellers but the one in Christchurch! They have such beautiful things..

Rainbows! I love how it all turned out.. just lovely and vintage looking!

That is a gorgeous ring! I'm also in Christchurch but pretty new to pricescope. It's kinda cool to see names of Jewellers I know and frequent.

Hello fellow kiwi!
I was spending alot of time in the pearl forum as I've just purchased a Tahitian strand, but have a few antique and art Deco rings I'll post in the antique thread.
