I’m about ready to make the jump and order my stone, so now I’m on to deciding on the setting.

I do plan to have a custom setting done down the line, but want something for now so I can wear my pretty.

I’m planning on going with the comfort fit bezel from JA with a plain wedding band, too. I just can’t decide if I want to go for “fun” with a rose gold, or stay “safe” and do white gold, especially knowing it’s a temporary setting (hopefully less than a year). I currently have a very thin wire bezel mother’s ring in rose gold that I wear daily.

The stone is a 1.29 E VVS2. How would the rose gold bezel impact the “whiteness” of the stone? Would it make it POP more or tint it super warm?

I would "play" with it if you know its temporary and you're only going to have it for a year...so, I vote rose gold. If it was for a permanent
setting I would play it safe and stick with white gold.

Do you know what your custom setting is going to be in?

FYI, if it were me, I would go with the cheapest setting possible, $180 at the moment, but I'm pretty frugal (i.e. cheap)!

I work a lot with my hands, so that’s why I’m going bezel.

The custom will likely be platinum.

I have the older version of the James Allen bezel pave ring in rose gold, but my main stone is an I color. I think the degree to which the rose gold bezel would add warmth depends on the diamond's cut - a leaky diamond may show the rose gold color more. I don't notice any added warmth when viewing the ring from top-down, but when viewed from an angle it does pick up the color more. It's not something that bothers me, but you may feel differently. I say go with your gut!
