A conversation I just had with a friend/guest at my wedding. RSVP due date was yesterday and he RSVP''d with "guest" but no name...

me: So have you decided on a date for the wedding yet? I have to do the place cards so I need a name soon.
michael: is it ok to put and Other?
me:You really want me just to put "other" on their card? That''s a little impersonal. Who are you considering? I''ll make different versions...
michael: it really depends how this weekend goes. I am supposed to take Tricia to upstate NY this weekend. If it goes badly then it would be someone else who i am not sure of yet
me: That sounds kind of complicated...okay so I''ll make one for Tricia and one for "mystery lady"
michael: and one for " the player to be named later"

HA! Oh, boy. That''s funny!

Then I realized he could mean he''s bringin TWO guests, "mystery lady" and "player to be named later" I still need clarification on that one...

See, this is the GOOD kind of RSVP confusion! You guys are friendly enough to joke around and be comfortable with it, so you don''t have to worry about the etiquette police and how to word the whole "hey, who''s your flavor of the week for my wedding?" bit of drama. it''s perfect! hahah!

OMG, that is so funny. You know, we have a friend like this -- he was actually dying to get married. And when he found a girl who he didn''t scare away by being too desperate (his words)...He married her! So the "whoever will say yes to the invite" date turned out to be his wife! You are both really good sports! How about to Friend and Lucky Lady? LOL.

I had TWO guys RSVP on my website as bringing a date, and the website requires you to fill in the first and last names of all the people in your party that are attending the wedding.

Both of them entered this for their guest:
First name: Girl
Last name: Friend

I talked to one of them about it, and his response was that he's sure as h*ll bringing someone, just doesn't know who yet. But he'll be darned if he comes to the wedding alone!
