We''re finally getting around to making the invitations for our September wedding. I have a question about the response card wording though. First, has anyone come up with a solution to the whole problem of ensuring guests know who is invited and that''s it? I saw some threads discussing the topic, but I was wondering if anyone that is married or has started getting RSVPs back had success.

What solutions have you come up with regarding not using a inner envelope? I was thinking about using a ribbon around the whole package and somehow attaching the names to that, but was wondering if anyone else has done something like this.

Finally, who fills out the following part of the RSVP?

M______________________________

Do I write in the name? Should I type it in? (Since we''re DIYing) Or do I send it blank and the invitee fills it out?

One other thing...should I type/print the addresses on the main envelope? Or handwrite them? I guess this is more of a what did you guys do question.

The weddings I''ve been invited to so far have been family, so my parents did all of the replying...thanks!

We just received an invite where there was the outer envelope and then the invite was one of those pocket fold things (opens like a card, invite on one side, pocket to hold map, etc on the facing side). Then, a strip of vellum paper fastened w/ 2-sided tape was wrapped around the folder to hold it closed, and our names were written by hand on that. Similar to your ribbon idea, but it''s lightweight, easy to write on, and will lie flat in the envelope.
