Rubies

My friend is going to Vietnam to see some of her family for 5 weeks. How much are uncut and cut rubies going for there or is this the wrong forum? What range should she be looking for? I want real non of the synthetic stuff. Sorry if I made someone mad if they like synthetic stones. I usually just buy here in the states but figured to try and get some rubies cheaper than here. Anyone that can help me would be great.

You will find several threats in this forum with the same Qs and the same answers

- Only pro can do this kind of buying after years of costly experiences and a realiable local network.
- Gems are not really cheaper locally

Rubies are one of the worst gems to buy for a novice. You will encounter glass filled, diffused, dyed, coated, and all sorts of manners of treatment, let alone synthetics or simulants, which a novice not know how to tell the difference. I don't recommend anyone buying a ruby from an unknown vendor, and they should be purchased from reliable vendors, and come with a reputable lab report that fully discloses all treatment, if the stone was expensive.
