Hi Pricescopers,
Today was a bit hard…. Still in lockdown here in Sydney Australia, can’t work, my daughter can’t go to school, trying to take each day at a time but some days I just wish I would go into hibernation until this is all over.
So this morning I got to dreaming about setting my sapphire into a ring and took photos of it with my ER (my two favourite things) to cheer myself up a bit. It’s harder to feel sorry for yourself when you are lucky enough to own lovely things and have people in your life who loved you enough to give them to you. ❤️
It’s funny how putting the sapphire inside the ring really shows how large/deep it is.
(In case you are wondering my ER main stone is .6ct). *** appologise I should have cleaned it first - I should know better ***6792FB39-1381-4C17-AB27-990987D063E3.jpeg6F6836EF-16D7-498A-9A1A-D989D6B9DC36.jpeg156B7D16-90F6-491A-B174-C66E01B28BF3.jpeg12715FAE-C16E-4923-906C-83D0389A0A9A.jpeg34777FB5-4BD4-45E7-B8EE-123F91DD321D.jpeg3A48F361-1BED-44FC-A045-008E60529249.jpeg98275A34-8EFC-4E19-9A0B-260B1E68B30D.jpeg286986BD-0ED9-4C86-BB3B-856CFFF6F7EA.jpegC611E543-5E8B-455C-B052-0E05723EC4A0.jpeg78C6D4DF-A8C5-4300-AA22-9FED35D7AF95.jpegCE06EDBE-9A24-4B65-917C-528D4D113644.jpeg

Sorry to hear you’re feeling a bit flat.
I think we are all over it here in Sydney.
I would just like to go and collect my yellow sapphire ring, I had the centre “re habbed” as it had some facet nibbles. And my watch conversion, which was my present to me from me!
On the plus side, the boots I bought in July for my birthday celebration (which I obviously haven’t had) finally turned up today. Two months to get to me.
And Australia Post sent me an email survey “how was your delivery”.
Are you kidding me, do you really want my opinion?
I paid the best part of $100 for Priority Shipping and it landed in Australia 6 1/2 weeks ago!
Where has it been?
Grrrr.
So if you want your beautiful sapphire tidied up, I’ll let you know how mine went, whenever the stores open again.

What a gorgeous colour!! I'm so sorry you are having such a rubbish time. I'm in regional Vic and we are 4 days out of lockdown, but for how long, who knows. Too may Melburnians making their way down here to the coast and bring the virus with them :x2
What are your plans for your sapphire?

Aaaarggghhh @Bron357 thats so frustrating!! I have been waiting for the jewellers to open forever. It seems really silly that we can’t have a one on one appointment (wearing masks and socially distancing of course).
Feels like an endless game of waiting and practicing patience. Hopefully now the weather is starting to turn it will be a bit easier.
Can’t wait to see your yellow sapphire.

@Dandi I hope you guys stay out of lockdown… it isn’t fair to regional people when it’s the big cities that are the obvious problem. Things here are very unfair and disjointed at the moment and people (friends and family) are turning in each other. I just want to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The sapphire came out of a antique silver pendant that broke. Originally I was just going to have the pendant repaired but all options are open at the moment. As much as I would love it to be a ring it would be such a big ring that I wouldn’t get much wear out of it and would worry about hitting the stone on things - I know it safer and would get more wear in a pendant but then I can’t see it myself. So I have been looking at ring/pendant conversions where the bale folds in etc

The one to the right.
The frivolous purchase at age 18 with the thousands I’d saved for an overseas trip that was cancelled (huge falling out with bestest friend).
Truth, then unset from the gem haul, is on the left.

Both so unbelievably beautiful I would never take them off ❤️ You must have a stunning collection.

I feel for everyone in Australia- it must be sooo hard. Gorgeous gorgeous stones! Bron I love that sapphire ring (I’ve commented on it before) though the story behind it is a bit tumultuous!

I'm so sorry to hear you're feeling flat. Some days are harder than others. Down in Melbourne we don't have an end in sight. I think some jewellers can do zoom appointments or can be reached via social media/email.

I can't wait to go out and have a meal in a restaurant again! But the way things are going in Melbourne, people just don't care anymore. We went through a huge and long lockdown last year only to go through another one this year. I think it would be the end of October at least before we see any sense of normality return.

P.s. I love that sapphire! The blue is amazing. I'm sure you could get a ringdant made. Not sure what your budget is but worth considering sending it to the US and getting DK to make it. We are in lockdown but the rest of the world isn't sigh.

I knew at the beginning the vaccine rollout was really slow but now I see that 66% has had a first dose. Perhaps that can be of some comfort? Is there vaccinate hesitancy there?

So sorry you're feeling down. I'm glad your loved ones and pretty rings make you feel better.❤

Yes - I think there is hesitancy everywhere. Even in countries that have the highest vaccination rate there are always that percentage that won’t do it (and of course the people who can’t). Unfortunately for me my business was in entertainment and events so even out of lockdown I will be the last to return to work.
I actually REALLY miss cruising to the pacific islands (I know how that sounds) - but I used to work painting on the ships and get a free holiday with my partner two or three times a year. We live to travel so are finding 2years of staying home really damaging to the soul.
My daughter is really struggling with doing all her school work online as she is in her last week of year 11 at a visual art and design high school… all her subjects are creative and don’t work on line, drama, visual art, photography and digital media, ceramics… it’s really sad.
Worst part is my partner literally cannot stop working - bills keep coming. I’ve lost three friends to suicide in the last year and a half. Really hoping we will come out the other side in January.

we are making plans to live overseas permanently - we can’t live here without being able to travel. I haven’t seen my sister and her kids in Brisbane in over 2years. It’s just really hard to keep getting dressed everyday, wash my hair and generally care about my existence.
I just keep my eyes set on that horizon.

@Beautiful-disaster oh gosh big hugs to you! It has to be so hard. I also miss being able to travel overseas, but we have been lucky because we have still traveled to national parks as a way of escape. Let's hope we turn the corner soon; there has to be an end to this.

Truth lives in the US with Suz.

Suz hasn't been around here for quite some time, I've been getting worried about her.

I hope she and hers are well?

Lovely! Not to get biblical but what is Truth?

Oh I’m so sorry. The mental health burdens of this crisis are real. We are here and we care about you! How hard to watch your daughter struggle. I feel for all our kids.

I could stare into that blue ALL day..this pandemic can kiss my **s. One day we'll get back to something we call normal. Until then just keep shining those sparklies. MORE pictures please!!! I want to live through you and that blue stone today <3
