Hey PS! Sorry for posting again. I asked this previously, but didn't really get a clear answer. As some of my other friends are getting engaged soon as well, i want to be certain whether to recommend them this vendor. To be clear, I am not purchasing this diamond as I already bought mine.

---------------
Here's the story:

I enquired about a diamond from a local vendor and they shipped in the diamond from hong kong. Upon arrival, the scopes they provided me seem different, and when I went down, the h&a photo i took with my phone differs too. I saw this past thread where a similar issue arised... want to make sure the same is not happening here.
>> I understand there are portable aset/ h&a scopes, vs desktop ones... do desktop scopes always look better?

Below are the pics:

First set of scope images from vendor (taken from his phone)

From the above pics, i asked them why the h&a has a lack of separation. Few hours later, they sent the desktop scope pictures that look like super ideal cut.

Intrigued, i went down and review the diamond myself. Granted, diamond looks good under jewellery lighting... and i forgot to take an aset picture. Here's the h&a I took, we can see that somehow, its a different portable scope used.

Despite the perfect desktop photos, i decided not to purchase from them due to lingering doubts. But what are your thoughts?
- Are these from the same diamonds? If yes, it is a very well priced SIC cut diamond shortlisted from the floating market
- Or could there potentially be something fishy going on and it's best to advise my friends to stay away?
- Or perhaps its inconclusive from these pics?

Tagging @Karl_K @Garry H (Cut Nut) as yall have both reviewed these images before and shared some insights on them, thank you!

Anyone has opinions on the above? if it's inconclusive at best, that's fine.

They do look different to me.

The center parts change with different scopes but the clefts in the hearts should be close to the same.

Possibility that the h&a photo i took wasn't aligned centrally, thus resulting in the clefts and slipping? Seems like a video of the aset/ h&a in real life would be more conclusive..

Some of the heart distortion on one side could be an alignment issue but the clefts are different all around.
Let me put it differently,, there is enough difference that I would want it resolved.

Yea you mentioned about the clefts in the other thread and I personally find that hard to reconcile too.

The desktop aset images seem too perfect to be true of this diamond - my gut feel is that they may have been digitally enhanced. Unfortunately, i won't be able to go down to take new pictures and videos of the diamond scopes as I have already made my purchase elsewhere :/

The most clear way would be to check the diamond's engraved number and have the vendor take those images on the spot - but am certain no one would agree to that haha

Ahh after doing more research, i realised the clefts in the h&a pic I took indicate a longer lower girdle%, probably somewhere at 80 or 81.

Both sets of pics provided by the vendor seem to indicate shorter lower girdle 77-78% owning to the:
- lack of clefts
- fatter arrows
- smaller gap between hearts and the cheveron

I see why they are probably different diamonds.

However, this diamond should still be decent I supposed since clefts don't affect diamond performance, and aside from the slipping, the hearts look pretty proportionate.
- i didnt manage to get an aset pic myself though, so that's a waste
