What Sandals resort in Jamaica have you visited? Which was the best for a honeymoon?

Class n Sass -

I can''t really help with you with your Jamacia question, but was kinda wondering the same thing about the 3 different Sandals Resorts in St. Lucia!! Anyone???

Have you looked at trip advisor? I have chosen Sandals Dunn''s River in Jamaica for our renewal of vows after reading up on it.

I was married at Sandal's in Ocho Rios. This was a long time ago....17 years on December 3 to be exact. We are going back to renew our vows on our 20th anniversary. Dunn's River location is lovely too. We visited there during our trip. I think the beach is better at Dunn's Rivers. Which ever one you choose, you have the option of spending time at other locations. You can't really go wrong with Sandals. It's truly romantic, and the setting and gardens are spectacular. My husband and I have been to many resorts in many islands over the 17 years we've been married, but Sandals is still our favorite.

my friend honeymooned in St. Lucia at Sandals don''t know which resort, but I know her hubby didn''t care for it. The water wasn''t clear and he had been to more tropical places. The room was over priced for what they got and they are not the lazy around kind of people, so it''s wasn''t the best vacation they had.

My fiance and I have decided on Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica. It''s the newest resort in Jamaica. It''s only been open since early ''05.

Laura,
I just got back from my honeymoon in Saint Lucia. We stayed at the Halcyon Sandals, which was smaller than the other two and more intimate. If you are looking for a big party, go the the Grande. If you golf, then the Regency has a fun course. However, you can take a free shuttle, and spend the day at any resort. The food was amazing, and they all had those fun swim up bars

"Aren''t you going to ask me how Jamaica was? Say it... ask me."

"How was Jamaica?"

"It was sooo good! Awwwwwh! Hey mon! At Sandals, Jamaica, when somebody says "Hey Mon!" everyone says "Hey Mon!" back."

We just went to Sandals Grande St. Lucian and it was, um, not good. We had problems with our room, almost all of the meals were buffet only, and I actually was insulted by a staff member... that pretty much ruined the whole end of the trip. It''s not the worst place I''ve been but it wasn''t worth the money we spent.

After I complained they offered me 2 free nights at any of their resorts but I don''t really know if I want to try it again. we''re definitely not going back to St. Lucia. I was thinking maybe Antigua but the resort gets such mixed reviews. We don''t want to go to Jamaica because it doesn''t quite seem exotic enough for us. DH wants to go to the Bahamas but I didn''t like the Bahamas when I was there a few years ago.... but we can''t exchange the credits for money so I guess we''ll suck it up and go.

My point: be careful with Sandals... I wasn''t impressed.

I think if I ever went to ANY sandals resort, all I''d be able to think about the whole time would be Michael and Jan

That sounds like a good choice. I''m sure you''ll both love it!

On Jamaica, I would for sure stay away from Montego Bay (too close to the airport). My husband and I stayed at The Royal Caribbean, and loved it. It was small, and further away from the airport.

I''d probably go back to either Ochos Rios or Dunn River if we decide to go back to Jamaica, but we''re generally done with tropical vacations for the time being.

I don''t know much about the Jamacia Sandals, but I assume they are all similarly run. At the Sandals Halcyon in Saint Lucia, we usually did a buffet breakfast and lunch (if we were even hungary for lunch after all the blended banana drinks) but all the places that served dinner were really good. My favorites were Mario''s which was Italian food at the Halcyon and La Toc, which was French at the Regency.

We only stayed two full days at our resort, we went on a cruise and did some of the extra excursions (zip lining, cruise to the volcano and rain forest, snorkeling, etc) we also spent our last day at the Regency (to golf)

I found everyone on staff was super nice. Our luggage got lost, so when we arrived and checked in someone tracked us down with a care package of toohbrushes, toohtpaste, and razors (shampoo conditioner aloe and lotion were in the room in a little tote)

If you do go to Saint Lucia, I highly recommend the cruise to Surfiere (sp?) that was my favorite day

It looks like you had gorgeous weather b/c you are both so tan in that pic!

I may have to consider the Halycon Resort because you can still visit the other 2 for dinners and excursions!
