Does anyone here have a great recipe for Sangria that is not too expensive? We''re having a party with ~30 people (half girls who will prob be the ones drinking punch). I''ve seen so many recipes that I''m confused now so I figured I''d try here for someone who''s actually made it?

Sweetpea there was a thread on this a few months ago!!

I love Sangria, especially white Sangria, so I did that, to me it''s more sweet and punchy than the reds which are not as sweet, I love sweet stuff.

If you like sweet punchy stuff then use the Moscato rather than a Blanc or Riesling...and the Sutter Home Moscato was something like $7 for a MAGNUM, and it was actually very good! A few magnums and fruit and some punches and you are golden. It was such a huge hit for us too at our party.

Thanks Mara! That white sangria also looks more affordable to make than the red which requires Grand Mariner and Rum and other stuff...

Any other good holiday punches that anyone knows of? I''m trying to be "thrifty" while supplying enough alcohol...

Champagne Punch

This is for 18 people but you can adjust accordingly

*Thaw two 9 ounce packages of frozen strawberries
*Combine strawberries with 12 ounces of club soda or ginger ale
*Place a block of ice in the bottom of punch bowl
*Pour the strawberry mixture in the punch bowl
*Add one quart of softened raspberry or orange sherbet in scoops
*Add two 750 milliliter bottles of low priced (Andre) sparkling wine and mix gently
*serve
You can garnish cups with fresh strawberries or a sprig of mint
