Hello gemagicians, see what i did there?
I would like to thank you for all the knowledge I have received from this forum. It's been a huge asset in my attempt to purchase a loose Sapphire for an engagement ring.
I have found a 2.53 carat Blue Sapphire for sale. Form a gem dealer I believe I got from this forum's trusted source list.
Here is the stone.

I also requested a video of the stone. I could not post it to this forum so I included a download link:
https://www.hightail.com/dl?phi_action=app/orchestrateDownload&rurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hightail.com%2Ftransfer.php%3Faction%3Dbatch_download%26batch_id%3DbWJvblRwYUlmVGJtcXRVag
My 2 questions:
1) Does this seem like an appropriate price for the size/quality of the Sapphire
2) How should I go about securing certification of the gem's authenticity? Should I ask the dealer to have it sent to GIA to be examined? He will ship it to me for free to look at, so should I handle the certification? I would much rather have them handle shipping the gem to another place. So is it appropriate for me to ask the dealer to get an official certification?
I appreciate the help!
Thanks!
